He enjoyed being petted, scratched on the nose and behind the ears, rubbed on the belly, walking on trails and in parks, riding in cars, eating Greenies, chewing bones, being the neighborhood watchdog, playing with other canines, and putting a smile on people's faces and warming their hearts with his cheerful eyes, infectious smile, and affable demeanor. His best friends in life were Lucky, a Basset Hound and Golden Retriever mix, Gatto and Checkers, black and white American domestic short-haired felines, and Bobby, a Tennessee Mountain Cur. Being a very photogenic canine, he was not shy when it came to posing for the camera. Richard loved everyone he came into contact with and was loved by all whose path he crossed.
