Few drivers have entered Formula One racing with as big a bang as Lewis Hamilton, whose sensational maiden season in 2007 - in which he lost out on the world championship by a single point - remains one of the most remarkable rookie campaigns in history. In the intervening period the supremely gifted British driver has won two world championships and established himself as one of the most complete drivers on the grid: a terrific qualifier, a tenacious racer and a fierce wheel-to-wheel combatant with a deadly eye for an overtake. Put simply, when it comes to driving a Formula One car, there are very few areas in which Hamilton does not excel. Hamilton attributes much of his success to his humble upbringing in Stevenage, the English town in which he began racing as a hobby. Winning came naturally to the young driver and soon he was cutting his teeth in national events. By the age of 10 - with a little less than two years’ experience - he was crowned the youngest-ever winner of the British Cadet Kart championship. Equipped with an assured racing style that belied his years, it wasn’t long before Hamilton’s trophy cabinet was groaning under the weight of more karting titles. Hamilton made sure that Ron Dennis was one of the first to notice his swift rise through the ranks and in 1998 the McLaren boss signed the Englishman to the team’s young driver programme. Indeed, Dennis’s belief in Hamilton’s talents was such that the contract even included an option on the 13 year-old should he ever make it into Formula One racing.
Max Emilian Verstappen (born 30 September 1997) is a Dutch-Belgian racing driver and a Four-time Formula One World Champion. He competes under the Dutch flag in Formula One with Red Bull Racing. He's been racing in F1 since 2015.
Charles Marc Hervé Perceval Leclerc, born 16 October 1997 is a Monégasque racing driver, currently racing in Formula One for Scuderia Ferrari. He won the GP3 Series championship in 2016 and the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2017. Leclerc made his Formula One debut in 2018 for Sauber, a team affiliated with Ferrari, for which he was part of the Ferrari Driver Academy. With Sauber having finished last the year before, Leclerc led the charge to improve its finishing position in the constructors' championship to eighth, and was the higher ranked of the two Sauber drivers. He became the second-youngest driver to qualify on pole position in Formula One at the 2019 Bahrain Grand Prix. The 2019 season also saw Leclerc take his first career win in Belgium. He won the Pole Trophy in the 2019 season, becoming the youngest driver to win it.
Sergio "Checo" Pérez (born 26 January 1990) is a Mexican racing driver. He competes under the Mexican flag in Formula One with Red Bull Racing. He's been racing in F1 since 2011.
Carlos Sainz Vázquez de Castro (born 1 September 1994) is a Spanish racing driver in Formula One. In 2012, Sainz raced in the British and European Formula 3 championships for Carlin. He raced for DAMS in the 2014 Formula Renault 3.5 season, winning the championship before moving to F1 with Toro Rosso. Sainz joined Renault for the 2017 and 2018 seasons, before moving to McLaren for the 2019 season, while at the same time ending his contract with Red Bull Racing. At the 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix Sainz took his maiden Formula One podium finish with third. Sainz moved to Ferrari at the end of the 2020 season. At the 2022 British Grand Prix, Sainz took his maiden Formula One pole position and career win. He achieved his second Formula One win at the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix, after starting on pole position for the fifth time in his career. After missing the 2024 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix due to appendicitis, Sainz scored another Formula One win at the following 2024 Australian Grand Prix starting from second. Lando Norris (born 13 November 1999) is a British-Belgian racing driver. He competes under the British flag in Formula One with McLaren. He's been in F1 since 2019.
Fernando Alonso Díaz (born 29 July 1981) is a Spanish racing driver. He has won the Formula 1 World Drivers' Championship twice in 2005 and 2006, the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2019, the 2018 and 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 2019 24 Hours of Daytona. He was also runner-up in Formula 1 in 2010, 2012 and 2013, and took a third-place finish in 2007. In Formula 1, he has competed for Minardi, Renault (in which he was a two-time world champion), McLaren and Scuderia Ferrari, this being his team from 2010 to 2014, year in which he left Ferrari to return to McLaren from 2015 until 2018. After two years away from F1, he returned with Alpine F1 Team in 2021, and has since moved to Aston Martin from 2023 onwards.
Esteban José Jean-Pierre Ocon-Khelfane (born 17 September 1996) is a French racing driver, currently competing in Formula One for Alpine. Graduating from karting to junior formulae in 2012, Ocon won his first championship at the 2014 FIA Formula 3 European Championship with Prema Racing, ahead of Tom Blomqvist and eventual three-time World Champion Max Verstappen. He then won the 2015 GP3 Series with ART Grand Prix. A member of the Mercedes Junior Team from 2015 to 2019, Ocon made his Formula One debut at the 2016 Belgian Grand Prix with Manor, replacing Rio Haryanto for the remainder of the 2016 season. He moved to Force India—who later became Racing Point—in 2017, partnering Sergio Pérez. Ocon left Racing Point at the end of 2018, and became a reserve driver for Mercedes in 2019. He signed for Renault in 2020, taking his maiden career podium at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix. Ocon then partnered Fernando Alonso at the re-branded Alpine team in 2021, taking his maiden race win at the Hungarian Grand Prix. After a podium-less 2022 season, during which he became the first teammate to outscore Alonso in the championship since Jenson Button in 2015, Ocon scored his third podium at the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix. As of the 2024 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Ocon has achieved one race win and three podiums in Formula One. Ocon is set to leave Alpine at the end of the 2024 season to join Haas. Esteban Ocon was born in Évreux, Normandy to Sabrina Khelfane and Laurent Ocon, a mechanic who owns a garage in Évreux. His paternal family is originally from Málaga. While competing in karting, his parents decided to sell their family home, which included his father's garage, to fund his karting career. After selling the house, they lived and travelled to races in a caravan Ocon also used as a motor home. As of 2022, Ocon lives in Geneva, Switzerland. Besides his native French language, Ocon also speaks English, Spanish and Italian. Ocon entered karting in 2006, when he finished eighth in the Minime class of the French Championship. He won the championship in 2007 and continued his success by winning the Cadet class in 2008 ahead of Anthoine Hubert and Pierre Gasly. He then spent three years racing in the KF3 category and competed in the Spanish Championship and Italian Open Masters. He won the French KF3 title in 2010 and finished as runner-up in the WSK Euro Series in 2011 behind Max Verstappen. At the age of 14, Ocon was signed by Gravity Sports management, a sister company of Renault F1 team. In 2012, Ocon made his debut in single-seaters, taking part in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 with Koiranen Motorsport. He finished fourteenth with four point-scoring finishes, including being on the podium at his home round at Circuit Paul Ricard. He also contested a partial campaign in the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps with Koiranen, finishing seventh with two podiums, both of which came at the Red Bull Ring. He remained in the series for 2013, switching to the ART Junior Team. He recorded one pole position and won two races including at Circuit Paul Ricard, finishing the season in third place behind Pierre Gasly and Oliver Rowland. Kevin Jan Magnussen (born 5 October 1992) is a Danish racing driver currently competing in Formula 1 for the Haas F1 Team. He joined the McLaren Young Driver Programme in 2010 and debuted for McLaren Racing in 2014, securing second place in his first race. He is the son of four-time Le Mans GT class winner and former F1 driver, Jan Magnussen.
