From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Ann Kathryn Turkel (born July 16, 1946 in New York, New York, United States) is an American actress and model. Turkel studied at the Musical Theatre Academy. She was photographed for American Vogue. Patrick Lichfield captured images of her on location in England, the Bahamas and Sardinia during the early seventies and included them in his 1981 book The Most Beautiful Women. She has starred in television film, her first major roles occurring in the 1974 film 99 and 44/100% Dead and 1976's The Cassandra Crossing, both alongside her future husband Richard Harris; they were divorced in 1982. Despite their divorce she and Harris remained good friends and when Harris died in 2002 Turkel was so saddened and called him a mentor and good friend. The son of a US naval commander and an artist, Darin has lived and traveled extensively throughout the US and Europe. Much of his youth Darin learned to adapt as the perennial 'new kid in school', and after splitting his high school years between Naples, Italy and Arizona, he ended up in Los Angeles at LMU to study film. It was here at the university where he discovered his passion for acting, and 20 years later, he continues on the path.
