Alejandro González Iñárritu (American Spanish: [aleˈxandɾo gonˈsales iˈɲaritu]; credited since 2014 as Alejandro G. Iñárritu; born August 15, 1963) is a Mexican film director, producer and screenwriter. He is the first Mexican director to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Director and the Directors Guild of America Award for Outstanding Directing, for Babel (2007). Iñárritu's six feature films—Amores perros (2000), 21 Grams (2003), Babel (2006) (comprising the "Death Trilogy"), Biutiful (2010), Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014), and The Revenant (2015)—have garnered critical acclaim and numerous accolades, including Academy Award nominations and wins. In 2015, Iñárritu won the Academy Award for Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Picture for Birdman. The following year, he won the Academy Award for Best Director for The Revenant, making him the third director to win back to back Academy Awards, and the first since 1950. He is friends with fellow Mexican directors Guillermo del Toro and Alfonso Cuarón, collectively known as "The Three Amigos of Cinema."
Emilio Echevarría (July 3, 1944 - January 5, 2025) was a renowned Mexican actor, born in Mexico City. He would begin his extensive career as an actor in 1978, as an active member of the Constitution of Art and Society. He was part of the theater group Circo, Maroma y Teatro, an institution that would open its doors to him, where he had actors such as José Luis Ibáñez, Otto Minera and Dimitrio Sarrás as teachers. He began his career in film with A Crucial Day for Ausencio Paredes (1987), and later participated in films such as Intimidad (1989), Ana's Steps (1991), Novia que te ver (1994), Preludio (1999). He rose to fame with the role of El Chivo, in the acclaimed film Amores Perros (2000), by Alejandro González Iñárritu. After his participation in the film, Echevarría became a highly sought-after actor.
Gael García Bernal (born 30 November 1978) is a Mexican actor and producer. He is best known for his performances in the films Bad Education, The Motorcycle Diaries (where he played a young Che Guevara), Amores perros, Y tu mamá también, Babel, Coco, and Old, and for his role as Rodrigo de Souza in the Amazon Studios streaming television series Mozart in the Jungle. He and Diego Luna founded Canana Films in Mexico City. García Bernal was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role for The Motorcycle Diaries in 2005, and in 2016 won his first Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy for Mozart in the Jungle. In 2016, Time magazine named him in the annual Time 100 most influential people list. In 2020, The New York Times ranked him No. 25 in its list of the 25 Greatest Actors of the 21st Century.
Goya Toledo is a Spanish film and television actress and model. Born at Arrecife on the island of Lanzarote, one of the Canary Islands, on the 24 September 1969, Toledo started out as a model before venturing into acting. Her most well-known role to date has been playing the model Valeria in the 2000 film Amores Perros. She also had a starring role in the 2003 Spanish thriller Killing Words.
Álvaro Guerrero (b. May 28, 1957 in Mexico City) is a Mexican film, theater, radio and television actor who has worked in various soap operas and Mexican films. He is the father of the actress and singer María José Guerrero.
