An American actress. She is known for portraying Piper Chapman on the Netflix original series Orange Is the New Black (2013–present), for which she won the 2013 Satellite Award for Best Actress in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy, and was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Drama and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series in 2014. A 15-year veteran of the Stratford Festival, he is known for his Gemini-winning turn as Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau in the CBC miniseries Trudeau (2002), his portrayal of Glenn Gould in Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould (1993), and for playing Detective Martin Ward in Bon Cop, Bad Cop (2006) and its sequel Bon Cop, Bad Cop 2 (2017).
