Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo are French filmmakers. The two are known for working on their projects together, with both men co-directing and Bustillo writing the script. They list their influences as Dario Argento, Roman Polanski, Clive Barker and John Carpenter. Their first film was Inside, a controversial horror film about a pregnant woman stalked by a madwoman who wants her child for herself. The film was cited as an example of the new wave of French horror films and was a critical success that brought international attention on Maury and Bustillo.
After the success of Inside, Maury and Bustillo were attached to at separate times to Halloween II, the sequel to Rob Zombie's remake of John Carpenter's Halloween as well as the remake for Clive Barker's Hellraiser. In both cases, they left the project. Says Maury, "We decided not to go to the United States to do a remake or a PG-13 movie; we want to do original things." Their current project Livid is set for release in 2011. The two are also set to do a segment on Paris, I'll Kill You, a horror film anthology set in Paris, France. Alexandre Jouan-Arcady (born August 7, 1978, in Paris, France), known professionally as Alexandre Aja, is a writer-director who has worked primarily in the horror genre, beginning with his acclaimed French-language breakthrough slasher film "High Tension" (2003) before making the transition to American films with his remake of Wes Craven's "The Hills Have Eyes" (2006). He has gone on to direct other notable horror films such as "Piranha 3D" (2010), "Horns" (2013), "Crawl" (2019), "Oxygen " (2021) and "Never Let Go" (2024). He is the son of French-Algerian filmmaker Alexandre Arcady.
Pascal Laugier is a former assistant to director Christophe Gans, having directed the "making-of" documentary about Gans' 2001 film, Brotherhood of the Wolf (Laugier also starred in the film). He has written and directed the fantasy-horror feature films Saint Ange, Martyrs, and The Tall Man. Laugier has been associated with the New French Extremity movement.

Jack Ketchum is the pseudonym for American author Dallas Mayr (born in Livingston, New Jersey on November 10, 1946). He is the recipient of four Bram Stoker Awards and three further nominations. Many of his novels have been adapted to film, including The Girl Next Door (2007 film) and Red (2008 film). In 2011 Ketchum received the World Horror Convention Grand Master Award for outstanding contribution to the horror genre.
