Melissa Altro
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Melissa Altro (born May 16, 1982) is a Canadian actress best known for her voice acting. She has lent her voice to such animated roles as Pippi Longstocking in the 1998 series Pippi Longstocking, and Muffy Crosswire in the long-running PBS animated series, Arthur. Altro guest-starred as Alex in a 1994 episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark? and on Grossology as Paige. She starred as Heather in the 1995 film Kids of the Round Table and as Barb in The Woods (credited as "Missy Altro"). She has also voiced her Arthur character in the series Postcards from Buster, and specials Arthur's Perfect Christmas, and Arthur's Halloween. The Montreal-born Altro is an alumna of St. George's High School and McGill University (where she majored in English, Drama and Theatre), both located in her hometown. She is well known for her work as the voice of Arthur's Mother Jane Read in the PBS children's TV series Arthur, Huckle Cat on The Busy World of Richard Scarry, Polly Ester in the English version of Samurai Pizza Cats, Nicole in the Madeline TV specials, and Marina and Hedwig in the English version of Adventures of the Little Mermaid.
