Rags follows the story of Charlie Prince, an orphan living with his acerbic and unloving stepfather and spoiled, simple-minded stepbrothers. Charlie's dream is to be a singer, and while he is vocally talented and can write music, he can't seem to catch a break. Kadee Worth, on the other hand, is the daughter of music mogul Reginald Worth and is an international pop phenomenon. While the world knows her as a glamorous superstar, she is secretly frustrated with singing other people's songs and wearing clothes other people choose for her. Kadee wants the world to hear and see her true talent. Despite every obstacle that gets thrown in their way, once Charlie and Kadee find one another, they each finally get what they have been looking for – a voice, a stage, an audience and each other.

Lauren Keyana "Keke" Palmer (born August 26, 1993) is an American actress, singer and television personality. Known for playing leading and character roles in comedy and drama productions, she has received several accolades, including a Primetime Emmy Award, five NAACP Image Awards, and nominations for a Daytime Emmy Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Time magazine included her on their list of most influential people in the world in 2019.
Palmer made her acting debut in Barbershop 2: Back in Business (2004). She later appeared in the television film The Wool Cap (2004), and had her breakthrough starring in the drama film Akeelah and the Bee (2006). She progressed as a child actress with roles in Madea's Family Reunion (2006), Jump In! (2007), The Longshots (2008) and Shrink (2009).
Palmer played a number of roles on Nickelodeon, such as the title character in the sitcom True Jackson, VP (2008–2011). 2014 to 2015 she starred as Ella in Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella on Broadway. She has since starred in the Facebook Watch series Turnt Up with the Taylors (2021) for which she received a Primetime Emmy Award. She also starred in films such as Animal (2014), Hustlers (2019) and Jordan Peele's Nope (2022).

Isaiah Mustafa (born February 11, 1974 height 6' 3½" (1,92 m)) is an American actor and former NFLpractice squadwide receiver. Mustafa is widely known as the main character for a series of Old Spice TV commercials, The Man Your Man Could Smell Like, for portraying Luke Garroway on Freeform's fantasy series Shadowhunters, and as adult Mike Hanlon in It Chapter Two (2019). Mustafa was born in Portland, Oregon, the youngest of seven children of Shahidah Mustafa-Davis and John Wali Mustafa, who owned and ran a limousine service in Laguna Hills, California in the early 1980s. Mustafa studied history at Arizona State and he played during the 1997 Rose Bowl between the then-undefeated Sun Devils and the Ohio State Buckeyes. Although Mustafa expected to become a high school teacher after graduation, a sports agent suggested that he try out for NFL teams. The Tennessee Oilers signed him to the practice squad, then sent him to NFL Europe's Barcelona Dragons in 1998. After a season on the Oakland Raiders and Cleveland Browns' practice squads in 1999, Mustafa attended the Seattle Seahawks' training camp in 2000. Next he owned a restaurant called Jo Jo's Barbecue on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles that has since closed. Mustafa is a comic book fan; his knowledge of Doctor Doom's first name helped him win $47,000 on The Weakest Link, for a question on the first name of Doctor Frankenstein. The money helped him pursue his post-restaurateur goal of becoming an actor.

Jared Drake Bell (born June 27, 1986), better known as Drake Bell, is an American actor, comedian, guitarist, singer/songwriter, producer, and occasional television director. Bell is commonly associated with his real-life best friend Josh Peck, who co-starred with him in both The Amanda Show, with Amanda Bynes, and Drake & Josh. After beginning his career as a child star in the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared on The Amanda Show and became well known among young audiences for his role on the series Drake & Josh. As of 2010, Drake Bell has won nine Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards. In addition to his acting, Bell has a growing career as a musician, and co-wrote and performed the theme song to Drake & Josh, entitled "Found a Way". Burkely Duffield (born August 9, 1992) is a Canadian actor. He is known for his roles as Eddie Miller in House of Anubis and as Holden Matthews in Beyond. His sister is actress and singer Victoria Duffield.
Duffield made his screen debut in the 2006 drama film Under the Mistletoe. He then went on to play a main role in the Nickelodeon mystery series, House of Anubis.
From 2017–2018, Duffield starred in the main role of Holden Matthews in the sci-fi drama series Beyond, which lasted two seasons.
In August 2019, Duffield was cast in the Netflix slasher film There's Someone Inside Your House. The film was released on October 6, 2021.
Tracy Spiridakos is a Canadian actress, best known for starring as Detective Hailey Upton in the hit Dick Wolf series "Chicago P.D." for more than 7 seasons.
Spiridakos was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Greek-born parents. The family moved to the Greek town Skala, near Sparta, when she was four, and returned to Canada when she was nine. She strongly identifies with her Greek heritage and speaks fluent Greek. She graduated from Oak Park High School in Winnipeg in the year 2000.
Spiridakos moved to Vancouver in 2007 to pursue acting, and within weeks landed her first television role, a small part on "Supernatural". She continued working in television, and in 2009, won her first starring role in "Majority Rules!".
