Jim Broadbent (born 24 May 1949) is an English actor. He won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for his supporting role as John Bayley in the feature film Iris (2001), as well as winning a BAFTA TV Award and a Golden Globe for his leading role as Lord Longford in the television film Longford (2006). Broadbent received four BAFTA Film Award nominations and won for his performance in Moulin Rouge! (2001). He was also nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards and four Screen Actors Guild Awards.
A graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in 1972, Broadbent first came to prominence in the 1980s, chiefly appearing in television comedy including playing Roy Slater in the BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses. He appeared in the Terry Gilliam films Time Bandits (1981) and Brazil (1985) before a breakthrough role in Mike Leigh's independent comedy drama Life Is Sweet (1990). As a creator, head writer, and star of the comedy series Fleabag (2016–2019), she won three Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globes and a British Academy Television Award. Michael Cochrane (born 19 May 1947) is an English actor who specialises in playing upper class characters, sometimes with a suaveness that hides their villainy.
He has had many television and radio roles including Oliver Sterling in the Radio 4 soap opera The Archers, The Pallisers (1974), Wings (1977-78), The Citadel (1983), Goodbye Mr. Chips (1984), No Job for a Lady, The Chief (1990-1995), and as Sir Henry Simmerson in the Sharpe series.
He has twice appeared in the BBC science fiction series Doctor Who, first as Charles Cranleigh in the serial "Black Orchid" (1982) and later as Redvers Fenn-Cooper in "Ghost Light" (1989). He was later associated with Doctor Who when he appeared in the 2006 Big Finish Productions audio drama "No Man's Land".
He featured in the ITV science fiction series The Uninvited. In 2008 he appeared in the soap opera Doctors as Daniel's solicitor and in 2009 in Margaret as MP Alan Clark. He appeared in the situation comedy Perfect World as the sex-obsessed marketing director.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Nicholas Farrell (born Nicholas Frost, in 1955) is an English stage, film and television actor. His early screen career included the role of Aubrey Montague in the 1981 film Chariots of Fire. In 1983, he starred as Edmund Bertram in a television adaptation of the Jane Austen novel, Mansfield Park. In 1984, he appeared in Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes and The Jewel in the Crown.
Since then, his film and television work has included several screen adaptations of Shakespeare's works, including Kenneth Branagh's 1996 Hamlet , in which he played Horatio, a role he had played previously with Branagh for the Royal Shakespeare Company. He has also appeared in film adaptations of Twelfth Night (1996), Othello (1995) and In the Bleak Midwinter (1995). He provided the voice of Hamlet for the animated television adaptation Shakespeare: The Animated Tales (1992).
Other television appearances have included two Agatha Christie's Poirot movies, Sharpe's Regiment, To Play the King, Torchwood and Collision. He has also appeared in episodes of Lovejoy, Foyle's War, Absolute Power, Spooks, Midsomer Murders, Drop the Dead Donkey and Casualty.
Farrell's theatre work includes performances of The Cherry Orchard, Camille, and The Crucible as well as Royal Shakespeare Company productions of The Merchant of Venice, Julius Caesar, and Hamlet.

He has appeared on television as both Charles II (in the 2004 BBC docudrama Wren: The Man Who Built Britain) and George V (in the TV adaptation of the play My Boy Jack). He appeared onstage as Don Pedro (alongside Zoë Wanamaker and Simon Russell Beale) at the Royal National Theatre's 2007-08 production of Much Ado About Nothing.

His television appearances include Consenting Adults, two episodes of Doctor Who ("Human Nature"/"The Family of Blood"), Green Wing,Silk, The Government Inspector (as John Scarlett), The Last Detective and DI Torrens for a few episodes in The Bill in 2001. He has also appeared in a 2008 series of UK television advertisements for First Direct, with Matthew King. In 2011, he appeared in both episodes of an Outnumbered two-part special. In 2012 he appeared in the first episode of series 8 of Hustle and presented new gameshow The Devil's Dinner Party. His film appearances include Tomorrow Never Dies as the captain of HMS Bedford, the 2001 film To End All Wars and voicework for Valiant.
