In New York City, Thom is broke and jobless, illegally working as a taxi driver. Claire is a successful business-woman, but personally she's in shambles - then comes the phone call that her estranged father is in the hospital. Not knowing what to do, Claire hops in Thom's cab and orders him to just drive and so he does. They find themselves in Pennsylvania and Claire makes the rash decision to drive across the country to California. On the road, there are many detours as the obstacles and secrets force them to learn about themselves and each other.

Samuel Heath Jaeger (born January 29, 1977) is an American actor and screenwriter.
Jaeger graduated from Perrysburg High School in 1995 and in 1999, he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at Otterbein College. He married Amber Marie Mellott on 25 August 2007.
Victor Jay Garber, OC (born March 16, 1949) is a Canadian actor. Known for his work on stage and screen, he has been nominated for three Gemini Awards, four Tony Awards, and six Primetime Emmy Awards. In 2022, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada.
Garber is perhaps best known for playing Jesus in Godspell, Jack Bristow in the television series Alias and Thomas Andrews in James Cameron's Titanic. Born in 1949 to Joseph and Hope Garber, Victor discovered his passion for acting early on. Beginning at nine, he honed his craft at the University of Toronto's Hart House, starting a career that spans over four decades. From notable TV roles in "The Slap," "The Flash," and "Motive" to acclaimed performances in "Alias," earning three Emmy nods, Victor’s talent extends to the stage, earning four Tony nominations. He’s celebrated for his on-screen presence, sharing in SAG Award nominations for "Milk" and "Titanic" and winning for "Argo." Beyond acting, he learned officiating to marry Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck and was the lead singer of the pop group Sugar Shoppe.
Lin attended the University of Michigan, where she was an Art History major, although acting in as many University productions as possible, including "Bye Bye Birdie" and "On The Town". After U of M, she attended Columbia University School of the Arts, and acquired a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting. She stayed in New York upon graduation and worked in numerous off- and off-off- Broadway productions, as well as Lincoln Center and Broadway. Michelle J. Krusiec born October 2, 1974 in Taiwan, is an American actress.
Krusiec's big break through came when she was recruited to be one of six globe-trotting travel reporters for the Discovery Channel new series called Travelers. Along with Barbara Alvarez, Robin Kipp, Pearce Bunting, Patrick Michael, Foster Soloman, and later Lisa Clark, the show became an instant hit on the Discovery channel.
Krusiec played the eighteen year-old Molly O'Brien in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode "Time's Orphan". Krusiec is a Best Actress nominee in the Golden Horse Film Festival for her performance in a U.S. independent film Saving Face (2005), in which she plays a Chinese American lesbian juggling the demands of her girlfriend and widowed mother. She also appeared in The Mind of the Married Man as Sachiko, the massage parlor girl who gives "happy endings." She co-starred in the NBC Saturday morning sitcom One World and also played the role of Exquisite Woo on Popular. She played Mei-Ling Hwa Darling, one of the Darling family's daughters-in-law in ABC's highly-publicized dramedy, Dirty Sexy Money.
