This ensemble comedy follows the Pullham University Bluecocks, a small liberal arts college with a Division III football program (the lowest division in the NCAA). When the head coach unexpectedly dies, the future of the flailing football program is in jeopardy, as they have not had a winning season in decades. In a desperate attempt to create some media attention for the athletic program and the university, President Georgia Anne Whistler hires known lunatic and felon, Coach Rick Vice, for what could be the football programs final season.

Andrew Roane Dick (born Andrew Thomlinson; December 21, 1965) is an American actor and comedian. Dick was born in Charleston, South Carolina, and joined The Second City and studied improvisational theater. Dick has had a long career as a stand-up comedian; he has appeared throughout the U.S., has released several comedy albums, and has acted in television and film. Dick's first regular television role was on The Ben Stiller Show on Fox. In the mid-1990s, he regularly appeared on NBC's NewsRadio and as a supporting character on Less than Perfect. He also had two short-lived television series on MTV; these were the sketch comedy series The Andy Dick Show (2001) and the reality series The Assistant (2004). He also is noted for his behavior on a number of Comedy Central Roasts, stand-up comedy performances, and late night talk show appearances.
Dick is also known for his eccentric behavior, problems with drug addiction, and allegations of sexual misconduct and arrests. Dick has said he has tried to deal with his drug and alcohol-use disorders for years and by 2016, he said he had undergone drug rehabilitation programs 20 times. In 2022, after a conviction for a 2018 offense, Dick was ordered to register as a sex offender.

Michael Andrew Jace (born July 13, 1962) is an American convicted murderer and former actor. He is best known for his role as the bisexual Los Angeles Police Officer Julien Lowe in the FX drama The Shield. He also has parts in the movies State of Play, The Replacements, Forrest Gump, The Fan, as well as an array of TV appearances including the 1995 HBO TV movie Tyson (as boxer Mitch Green), Law & Order, and the 1999 Fox TV movie Michael Jordan: An American Hero (as Jordan).
He was arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department on the evening of May 19, 2014, at his Hyde Park, South Los Angeles home, following a domestic violence report as well as his own 9-1-1 call, in which he stated, "I shot my wife." When police arrived, they found Jace's second wife, April, dead from gunshot wounds. After being questioned by police regarding his wife's death, he confessed to the shooting. On May 31, 2016, a jury convicted him of second-degree murder and, on June 10, 2016, sentenced him to 40 years to life in prison. He is incarcerated at the Corcoran State Prison.

Maureen "Mo" Ann Collins (born July 7, 1965) is an American actress and comedian. Collins is perhaps best known for being a member of the ensemble on FOX's sketch comedy series MADtv. She became well known for several characters during her tenure on the show. She was a cast member from the 4th season (1998) through the 9th season (2004); she only appeared in fourteen episodes during season 9 due to contractual reasons. She returned to MADtv in the 10th season for one episode, and again when she made an appearance on the 300th Episode doing her popular character Lorraine Swanson.
Known for his tall, rotund stature, and prolific sense of humor, Paul Henderson is a multi-talented actor, writer, comic, and musician. He began making Super 8mm films at the age of 12, and later performed in Southeastern regional theater and music on the Gulf Coast before being discovered by director Alan Parker, and being cast in the Academy Award-winning Mississippi Burning (1988)
Henderson moved to Los Angeles in 1988, where he began performing stand-up comedy and quickly became a regular performer and doorman at the "World Famous" Comedy Store, on the Sunset Strip. There he met and became friends with comic legends including Sam Kinison, with whom he would go on to work as an opening act in Kinison's "Outlaws of Comedy." It was at the Comedy Store where Henderson began a career as a comedy writer, creating often uncredited material for many well-known comics, and as an occasional contributing joke writer to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno (1992).
In 1991, Henderson became associated with comic actor Andy Dick and has since written, performed, and collaborated with Dick on many projects, including The Andy Dick Show (2001), Division III: Football's Finest (2011), and countless podcasts and live musical comedy performances at clubs and colleges across America.
As a performer, Paul Henderson specializes in dialects, impressions, and twisted characterizations. He is also an accomplished singer and writer of songs in a wide variety of musical genres, usually choosing to showcase these talents under his pseudonym The Guise. As of (2022) Paul Henderson lives in Los Angeles and is writing and developing several upcoming film and television projects.

Adam Carolla (born May 27, 1964) is an American radio personality, television host, comedian, and actor. He currently hosts The Adam Carolla Show, a talk show distributed as a podcast on the ACE Broadcasting Network.
Carolla is also known as being the co-host of the radio show Loveline from 1995 to 2005 (and its television incarnation on MTV from 1996 to 2000), as the co-host of the television program The Man Show (1999–2004), and as the co-creator and performer on the television program Crank Yankers (2002–2007).
In November 2010 Carolla's book In Fifty Years We'll All Be Chicks debuted on the New York Times Best Seller List for hardcover non-fiction.
