I am 21 years old and I graduated with a First-Class Degree in Film & TV Production in July 2020. Since graduating I have been keen to begin a career in the film and television industry. I am interested in developing skills within all aspects of production. I have recently completed post-production on my University Degree film (which we had to complete independently after our university closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic), in which I took on the roles of Sound Recordist, Sound Editor and Sound Designer. I thoroughly enjoyed creating the Foley in our university’s sound studio, and also creating disturbing atmospheric sound effects with synthesisers and sound effect plugins within Ableton Live. This love of sound design has grown from my passion for music production, which I began learning at the age of 13, and this hobby has given me a wide range of knowledge in producing, mixing, and mastering sound. I also play electric guitar, bass, and keyboard, all of which I engineer directly into my digital audio workstation and manipulate with software plugins. As you will see in my CV, I have undertaken work experience within television production at the London headquarters of Lion Television and also within the studios of Britain’s Got Talent. My introduction to the industry began at the age of just 6 years old, when I had the first of several professional acting roles in film and also television productions. This included being cast as the son of Simon Pegg’s character in the 2007 feature film Run Fat Boy Run. I went on to secure further featured acting roles in various productions, including in all 5 series of CBBC’s Horrible Histories and in a BBC Sitcom role which was based at Elstree Studios, where I spent 6 weeks working on the production and was able to experience a live studio set and how it all works. I loved being on set and became enthused with the environment, watching the crew intently throughout. This was heightened further as I grew older and led to me enrolling in a Creative Media course at college, which strengthened my pursuit of a career that had more scope for creativity. I wanted to work behind the camera in a more practical role and I had no further desire to become an actor. Since my early teenage years, I’ve always enjoyed creating and editing digital media and producing music. My background gave me a real insight and I believe readied me for working in a production company, as I am well-rehearsed in on-set etiquette and the importance of how to behave in a live studio setting. It has also strengthened my confidence and communication skills to a point where I truly believe I could be a valued member of a production team. A trainee role will allow me to develop these skills further and solidify the foundations on which I will build my future career
