Maxine Peake (born 14 July 1974) is an English stage, radio, film and television actress, playwright, producer, director and political activist, who made her name as Twinkle in Victoria Wood's sitcom Dinnerladies. She has since played Veronica in Channel 4's Manchester-based drama series Shameless, barrister Martha Costello in the BBC legal drama Silk and Grace Middleton in The Village. She is also an accomplished stage actress, having played the title role in Hamlet, and had a role in the 2014 film The Theory of Everything. In 2018 she played the lead in the film Funny Cow and had a starring role in Mike Leigh's epic Peterloo, a film very close to her heart.

A three-time Olivier Award winner, he won for Too Clever by Half (1988), Peer Gynt (1996), and My Fair Lady (2003). He is the only performer to have won Olivier awards in the drama, musical and comedy categories. He played Prince Charles in the 2006 film The Queen. His other film appearances include The Wings of the Dove (1997), Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004), Babel (2006) and The Lady in the Van (2015). Lesley Nicol (born August 7, 1953 in Manchester, England) is an English actress, who is most notable for her role as Mrs Beaver in the 1988 BBC adaptation of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and as the Queen Giant in the 1990 adaptation of The Silver Chair. She has guest-starred on numerous British television series. She also appeared as Rosie in the West End production of Mamma Mia! from 2000 to 2002. David Schaal (born 27 May 1963 in Albuquerque, New Mexico) is an English actor best known for playing the roles of "Taffy" in The Office and "Terry Cartwright" in The Inbetweeners. Schaal studied Theatre Arts at Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama (1985–1988) and has worked in television, film and theatre. His television credits include Missing, Casualty, The Wrong Door, Beautiful People, Hancock and Joan, Ashes To Ashes, The IT Crowd, Deceit, Doc Martin, Peak Practice, Silent Witness and Dangerfield. His film credits include Kidulthood, Mr. Nobody, Clubbed and Dirty Weekend. Schaal also appeared as "Norm", Shirley Carter's seedy landlord, in EastEnders and played troubled father "Tom Hargreaves" in Grange Hill. Other notable credits include playing "DS Bevan" in Paul Greengrass' The Murder of Stephen Lawrence, playing opposite William Baldwin in the film Relative Values, and appearing in Philip Davis' English football hooligan film I.D. Schaal also played "Eric" in Ben Wheatley's domestic British gangster film Down Terrace. Schaal wrote the short films Poppy's Present (directed by Chris Jury) and Half Time (directed by Duncan Roe). He also co-wrote the play Reality Chokes and appeared in it as "Rob" in London and directed a production of the play at the Edinburgh Festival in 2010. Liverpudlian actor Tom Georgeson is best known for his roles in several groundbreaking TV dramas including Between the Lines and Boys from the Blackstuff, Scully and G.B.H. - the last three all penned by Alan Bleasdale.
