The hot-tempered, unruly players of this pub league soccer team are in dire straits after having lost everything -- their drive, their skills and soon, their playing field. When mysterious Walter Keegan shows up offering to be their coach, captain Bubbles and the rest of his loopy, obnoxious teammates are so desperate to succeed, they agree to give him the job. Drilled into the ground with a fierce discipline they have never known, the team pushes beyond their aches and pains to gain not only redemption on the field, but more importantly, their self-respect.

Brendan Gleeson
Brendan Gleeson (born 29 March 1955) is an Irish actor and film director. He is the recipient of three IFTA Awards, two BIFA's, and a Primetime Emmy Award and has been nominated twice for a BAFTA Award, five times for a Golden Globe Award and once for an Academy Award. In 2020, he was listed at number 18 on The Irish Times list of Ireland's greatest film actors. He is the father of actors Domhnall Gleeson and Brian Gleeson.
He is best known for his performance as Alastor Moody in the Harry Potter films (2005–2010). He is also known for his supporting roles in films such as Braveheart (1995), Michael Collins (1996), 28 Days Later (2002), Gangs of New York (2002), Cold Mountain (2003), Troy (2004), Suffragette (2015), Paddington 2 (2017), The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018), and The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021). David Wilmot is an award-winning Irish stage, screen, and television actor. Wilmot's theatre credits include Six Characters in Search of an Author at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, As You Like It with the Druid Theatre Company in Galway, and Juno and the Paycock in London's West End. He originated the role of Padraic in The Lieutenant of Inishmore at The Other Place in Stratford-upon-Avon in 2001, played it at the Barbican Center in 2002, then joined the 2006 off-Broadway Atlantic Theater Company production, which later transferred to Broadway. He was nominated for the 2006 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play, the Drama League Award for Distinguished Performance, and the Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Actor in a Play and won the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Lead Actor and the Theatre World Award for his performance.
Wilmot portrayed Dr. Ed Costello in sixteen episopdes of The Clinic on RTÉ. He was nominated for the Irish Film and Television Award for Best Actor in a TV Drama. Wilmot's screen credits include Michael Collins (1996), I Went Down (1997), The Devil's Own (1997), The Tale of Sweeney Todd (1998), Intermission (2003), Laws of Attraction (2004), King Arthur (2004), and Six Shooter (2006). Eoin Macken (born 21 February 1983) is an Irish actor and film maker. Eoin has modelled for Abercrombie and Fitch, Ralph Lauren, and GQ. He has appeared in films such as Studs, 3Crosses and Centurion, and as Gavin Cluxton on RTE television show Fair City. Eoin has directed two feature films; Christian Blake in 2008, which screened in the 2008 Galway Film Fleadh before being released on May 19, 2009 in the USA with distributor Celebrity Distribution and Dreaming For You, shot in New York, and selected for the 2009 Galway Film Fleadh. Eoin directed the documentary The Fashion of Modelling which screened on RTE on May 24, 2009.
