Annette Carol Bening (born May 29, 1958) is an American actress. In a career spanning more than four decades, she has received many accolades, including a BAFTA Award and two Golden Globes as well as nominations for a Primetime Emmy Award, two Tony Awards, and five Academy Awards.
Bening began her career on stage with the Colorado Shakespeare Festival company in 1980, and played Lady Macbeth in 1984 at the American Conservatory Theater. She made her Broadway debut in the Tina Howe play Coastal Disturbances (1987) for which she received a nomination for the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play. She played the title role in a Geffen Playhouse production of Hedda Gabler (1999). She returned to Broadway in the revival of Arthur Miller's All My Sons (2019) earning another Tony nomination for Best Actress in a Play.
Bening won the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for playing a materialistic wife in American Beauty (1999), and received nominations for five Academy Awards for her roles in The Grifters (1990), American Beauty, Being Julia (2004), The Kids Are All Right (2010), and Nyad (2023). She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for playing the title role in the television film Mrs. Harris (2005). Brian Denis Cox CBE (born 1 June 1946) is a Scottish actor. A classically trained Shakespearean actor, he is known for his work on stage and screen. His numerous accolades include two Laurence Olivier Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and a Golden Globe Award, as well as a nomination for a British Academy Television Award. In 2003, he was appointed to the Order of the British Empire at the rank of Commander.
Cox trained at the Dundee Repertory Theatre before becoming a founding member of the Royal Lyceum Theatre. He went on to train as a Shakespearean actor, starring in numerous productions with the Royal National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company, where he gained recognition for his portrayal of King Lear. She was also the first actress to play Kristin Shepard in U.S. prime time soap opera Dallas in 1979.
Camp was born in San Francisco, California. She had small early roles in films like 1975's Funny Lady with Barbra Streisand. She also appeared alongside Bruce Lee as his wife Anne in Bruce Lee's last movie Game Of Death. Camp was also a Playboy magazine pinup and played one in Francis Coppola's 1979 film Apocalypse Now, though most of her footage was cut from the initial theatrical release. Leslie Erin Grossman (born October 25, 1971) is an American actress. She is perhaps best known for her role as Mary Cherry on the television series Popular and as Lauren in What I Like About You.
Grossman was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. As a youth, she was a cast member on Kids Incorporated. She attended Crossroads School, where she directed plays. She started acting in her senior year at Sarah Lawrence College.
Grossman had a regular role in What I Like About You, as Val's co-worker and best friend, Lauren, and appeared in Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, Nip/Tuck, Charmed and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, amongst other things. She appeared in two movies in 2006, Running with Scissors and Itty Bitty Titty Committee. Grossman also guest starred on Melissa and Joey. She auditioned for the roles of Sam McPherson and Nicole Julian on Popular before having the part of Mary Cherry written for her.
In 2000, Grossman married John Bronson. Together, they have one child.
