Needing a new partner capable of intricate cons, Richard Gaddis, recruits Rodrigo, a crook with a perfect poker face. The two plan a big-time scam: selling a fake Silver Certificate to currency collector William Hannigan. Rodrigo distrusts his new associate, but needs money to help out his ill father. The situation becomes more complicated when Rodrigo falls for Gaddis' sister, Valerie, drawing another player into the game.

John Christopher Reilly (born May 24, 1965), better known as John C. Reilly is an American film and theatre actor. Debuting in Casualties of War in 1989, he is one of several actors whose careers were launched by Brian De Palma. To date, he has appeared in more than fifty films, including three separate films in 2002, each of which was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. Margalit "Maggie" Ruth Gyllenhaal (born November 16, 1977) is an American actress and filmmaker. Part of the Gyllenhaal family, she is the daughter of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs, and the older sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal.
Gyllenhaal began her career as a teenager with small roles in several of her father's films, and appeared with her brother in the cult favorite Donnie Darko (2001). Ellen Ware Geer (born August 29, 1941) is an American actress, professor, screenwriter, film director and theatre director.Geer has enjoyed a long, distinguished career in film and television. She began her career appearing as a nun in the 1968 Richard Lester drama Petulia. Geer followed this with an appearance in 1969's The Reivers with her father, Will Geer. In 1971, Geer played the deceased wife of the lead character in Kotch, appearing throughout the movie in flashbacks. That same year, she became a regular on The Jimmy Stewart Show (which aired until the following year) and had a supporting role in the acclaimed comedy Harold and Maude. In 1974, she starred in two films which she also wrote: Silence and Memory of Us. Both featured her father. The remainder of Geer's 1970s career consisted primarily of guest appearances and made-for-TV movies. TV shows on which she appeared during this time included Police Story, The Streets of San Francisco, Baretta, Barnaby Jones, Charlie's Angels, CHiPs, and two episodes of Fantasy Island. Her TV movie credits during this time included Babe (1975), The Lindbergh Kidnapping Case (1976), The Trial of Lee Harvey Oswald (1977), and A Shining Season (1979). The only theatrical film on which she worked in the late '70s was Jonathan Kaplan's Over the Edge in 1979. Luis Contreras (September 18, 1950 – June 20, 2004) was an American character actor. The son of actor Roberto Contreras, his film debut was in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Contreras appeared in multiple movies for director Walter Hill: The Long Riders, 48 Hrs., Extreme Prejudice, Red Heat, Geronimo: An American Legend, and Last Man Standing. He will forever be known as Biker #2 (the biker with an eye patch) who suggests his gang, Satan's Helpers, stab, tattoo, hang, and then kill Pee-Wee Herman after he knocks over all their motorcycles outside the biker bar. Later, Biker #2 wishes Pee-wee good luck in finding his bike after he impresses them with his dancing. Contreras died of cancer in 2004 at 53.
