Phil Crowley (born 6 June 1950) is a voice actor who worked on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Crowley also lent his voice to the artificial intelligence in the Star Trek: Voyager fifth season episode "Think Tank". Crowley was born in Pasadena, California and attended the University of Southern California between 1968 and 1976 where he graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance/Composition and with a Master of Music in Orchestral Conduction. He then worked as teacher at Biola College and at the Dick Grove School of Music.
Sir Ian Murray McKellen CH CBE (born 25 May 1939) is an English actor. With a career spanning more than sixty years, he is noted for his roles on the screen and stage in genres ranging from Shakespearean dramas and modern theatre to popular fantasy and science fiction. He is regarded as a British cultural icon and was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II in 1991. He has received numerous accolades, including a Tony Award, six Olivier Awards, and a Golden Globe Award, as well as nominations for two Academy Awards, five BAFTA Awards, and five Emmy Awards. McKellen made his stage debut in 1961 at the Belgrade Theatre as a member of its repertory company, and in 1965 he made his first West End appearance. In the 1970s McKellen became a stalwart of the Royal Shakespeare Company and the National Theatre of Great Britain. McKellen achieved worldwide fame for his film roles, including the titular King in Richard III (1995), James Whale in Gods and Monsters (1998), Magneto in the X-Men films, and Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings (2001–2003) and The Hobbit (2012–2014) trilogies. McKellen came out as gay in 1988 and has since championed LGBT social movements worldwide. He was awarded the Freedom of the City of London in October 2014. Elijah Jordan Wood (born January 28, 1981) is an American actor and producer. He rose to international fame for his portrayal of Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy (2001–2003) and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012). Wood made his film debut with a small part in Back to the Future Part II (1989). He went on to achieve recognition as a child actor with multiple roles such as Avalon (1990) and The Good Son (1993). As a teenager, he starred in several films including North (1994), Flipper (1996), and The Ice Storm (1997). Philippa Boyens, MNZM, is a New Zealand screenwriter who co-wrote the screenplay for Peter Jackson's film series The Lord of the Rings with Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh, for which the trio won an Oscar at the 76th Academy Awards in 2004. Boyens worked with the same collaborators on the screenplay for Jackson's version of King Kong. Following that movie's completion, the trio once again worked together on The Lovely Bones, Jackson's film adaptation of Alice Sebold's novel of the same name, which was released in 2009. She is also collaborating with Jackson, Walsh and Guillermo del Toro on The Hobbit films which are scheduled for release in 2011 and 2012. Prior to turning to screenwriting with The Lord of the Rings, Boyens was a playwright. Boyens was a part-time student at the University of Auckland, graduating with a BA in English and History in 1994. She received a Distinguished Alumni Award from the university in 2006. She has three children, daughter Phoebe Gittins, and sons Calum Gittins (both with actor Paul Gittins) and Isaac Miller. Calum starred as Haleth in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. He made his breakthrough as the character Legolas in The Lord of the Rings film series, a role he reprised in The Hobbit film series. He gained further notice appearing in epic fantasy, historical, and adventure films, notably as Will Turner in the Pirates of the Caribbean film series. Bloom appeared in Hollywood films such as Paris in Troy (2004) and Balian de Ibelin in Kingdom of Heaven (2005). He stars in the Amazon Prime Video series Carnival Row (2019–present). Miranda Otto (born December 16, 1967) is an Australian actress. The daughter of actors Lindsay and Barry Otto and the sister of actress Gracie Otto, she began acting at age eighteen, and has performed in a variety of independent and major studio films. Her first major film appearance was in the 1986 film Emma's War, in which she played a teenager who moves to Australia's bush country during World War II. In 1996, director Shirley Barrett cast Otto as a shy waitress in the film Love Serenade. She starred in the 1997 films Doing Time for Patsy Cline and The Well, for which earned her third Australian Film Institute nomination. Her next project was the romantic comedy Dead Letter Office (1998). The film was Otto's first with her father, Barry, who makes a brief appearance. Later that year, she starred in the film In the Winter Dark, directed by James Bogle, for which she was nominated for her fourth Australian Film Institute Award.
