Claire, a brilliant student, seeks answers to the meaning of life in the calm of her biology laboratory. One day, she meets a mysterious young man, Jack, at the cinema, and is intrigued by his style, assurance and audacity. Apart from his artistic activities, Jack has a regular scam going, ripping off foreign businessmen with his loyal mate Charlie and two actresses. But his tough guy exterior conceals a secret passion for old books, and he dreams of writing a novel one day. Jack falls hard for Claire's purity and curiosity. An unusual romance develops between them. But Jack is scared of their growing intimacy and rejects Claire, withdrawing into his shell. Abandoned and confused, Claire gradually begins to neglect her studies and embarks on a spiraling course of self-destruction, whilst Jack, who tries to ignore her, concentrates on his criminal activities. Adrien Nicholas Brody (born April 14, 1973) is an American actor and producer. He received widespread recognition and acclaim after starring as Władysław Szpilman in Roman Polanski's The Pianist (2002), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor at age 29, becoming the youngest actor to win in that category. Brody is the second male American actor after Christopher Lambert to receive the César Award for Best Actor.
Other successful films that Brody has starred in are The Thin Red Line (1998), The Village (2004), King Kong (2005), Predators (2010) and Midnight in Paris (2011). He is a frequent collaborator of Wes Anderson's, having starred in four of Anderson's films, The Darjeeling Limited (2007), Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009), The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014), and The French Dispatch (2021). Jonathan Seda is an American actor of Puerto Rican descent, best known for his role as Detective Antonio Dawson in NBC's Chicago P.D., and as Detective Paul Falsone on NBC's: Homicide: Life on the Street. The character of Antonio Dawson on Chicago PD is sibling to the character of Gabriela Dawson on Chicago Fire. Seda was an amateur boxer who in 1992, auditioned for and was given a role in the film Gladiator. He became interested in acting and appeared in various films. He portrayed Chris Pérez alongside Jennifer Lopez in Selena and became widely known to both the Hispanic and non-Hispanic communities.
He has had numerous television appearances, including roles as legendary Marine John Basilone in Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg's follow up to Band of Brothers, The Pacific.

Katherine Sian Moennig (born December 29, 1977) is an American actress best known for her role as Shane McCutcheon on The L Word, as well as Jake Pratt on Young Americans. In 2009, she starred as Dr. Miranda Foster on CBS Three Rivers. Moennig was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Broadway dancer Mary Zahn and violin maker William H. Moennig III. Moennig is of German, Scottish, and Irish ancestry.
Moennig moved to New York City at the age of 18 to study at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Moennig has played multiple lesbian roles in The L Word, Everybody's Fine, Art School Confidential. She has also pursued transgender roles, auditioning for the part of Brandon Teena in Boys Don't Cry, and playing Cheryl Avery, a young transgender woman in Law and Order. In 2007, the documentary My Address: A Look At Gay Youth Homelessness in New York was launched with Moennig in cooperation with the Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI).

Michaela Conlin (born June 9, 1978, height 5' 8" (1,73 m)) is an American stage and television actress, best known for her work on the Fox TV series, Bones as Angela Montenegro. Conlin was born and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She was born to a Chinese-American mother and an Irish-American father.
She performed in her first play at the age of six and continued to appear on stage in numerous Pennsylvania community and regional productions. Following her graduation from Parkland High School, Conlin moved to New York City to study acting and was accepted into New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. While working toward her B.F.A. in Theater, she appeared in several productions at the Atlantic Theater Company and the Playwrights Horizons Theater School, and traveled to Amsterdam to study with the Experimental Theatre Wing's International Training Program.
Following her graduation from NYU, Conlin was chosen to be a part of the cable documentary series The It Factor, which focused on the lives of young actors in New York City. Soon after, she relocated to Los Angeles, California, where she landed her first starring role in the series MDs, playing an idealistic young intern taken under the wing of the hospital's two renegade doctors, played by William Fichtner and John Hannah. She followed that with a leading role in the drama series The D.A., playing an outspoken political consultant to Steven Weber's district attorney.
James Tomio Saito (born March 6, 1955) is an American actor, best known for his physical portrayal of Shredder in the 1990 film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; the character was voiced by David McCharen.
