Angela Arden is a washed up, has-been singing star who is trapped in a hateful marriage to film producer Sol Sussman. In an attempt to escape her marriage so that she can be with a hunky layabout, she poisons her husband. However, Angela's manipulative daughter, gay son and alcoholic maid are not going to make it easy for her.

Charles Louis Busch (born August 23, 1954) is an American actor, screenwriter, playwright and female impersonator, known for his appearances on stage in his own camp style plays and in film and television. He wrote and starred in his early plays Off-off-Broadway beginning in 1978, generally in drag roles, and also acted in the works of other playwrights. He also wrote for television and began to act in films and on television in the late 1990s. His best known play is The Tale of the Allergist's Wife (2000), which was a success on Broadway.
Natasha Bianca Lyonne Braunstein (/liˈoʊn/ lee-OHN; born April 4, 1979) is an American actress, writer, director, and producer. She is known for her distinctive raspy voice and tough persona, and the accolades she has received include nominations for five Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards.
After working as a child actress, Lyonne came to prominence in the late 1990s with her roles in Everyone Says I Love You (1996), Slums of Beverly Hills (1998), But I'm a Cheerleader (1999), and American Pie (1999). Following various independent film appearances throughout the 2000s, she achieved wider recognition with her portrayal of Nicky Nichols on Netflix's Orange Is the New Black (2013–2019). Her subsequent television work has included Peacock's Poker Face (2023–present) and Netflix's Russian Doll (2019–2022). In addition to starring in Russian Doll, Lyonne co-created, wrote for, directed, and served as an executive producer of the series. She was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time Magazine in 2023.

Stanley DeSantis (July 6 1953 – August 16, 2005) was an American actor and businessman. He appeared in 15 motion pictures, the last of which being The Aviator, in which he portrayed Louis B. Mayer. He also made many television appearances. His passing was credited in a dedication for the season two finale of Entourage, in which had guest starred.
When not acting, DeSantis owned and managed a clothing-and-memorabilia business, Passing 4 Sane, and a novelty soap company, Bubbletown, both of which were primarily involved in the licensed characters. He died in 2005 of a heart attack and was never married or had kids.

Angela Paton was an American stage, film, and television actress and theatre director. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1930. Described as a "natural comic" and one of the "legends of the local stage" of San Francisco, she was a veteran of the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) and one of A.C.T.'s leading actresses in its first few seasons. After leaving A.C.T. in the early 1970s, Paton and her husband founded and ran the Berkeley Stage Company for a number of years. She appeared in 38 films and over 50 TV series.
Some of her notable film roles include Mrs. Lancaster, the innkeeper, in Groundhog Day (1993) and Grandma in American Wedding (2003). She also had recurring roles on the television shows Thirtysomething (1987-1991), My Name is Earl (2005-2009), and The War at Home (2005-2007).
Paton was a respected figure in the Bay Area theater community, and she was awarded the Bay Area Theater Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1987 for her performance in the play "The Beauty Queen of Leenane." She was also a member of the Actors' Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild.
Paton died in Oakland, California, in 2016, at the age of 86.
