Apart from Melissa Joan Hart, Beaudoin was the only other original cast member from the film that went on to the Sabrina the Teenage Witch television series. Beaudoin's character was removed from the series after only one season. In an interview Beaudoin revealed that it was due to the creators wanting Sabrina to have an ethnic friend. While some speculation has been it was due to her risky cameo in the film Bad Company (1995) where she briefly appeared nude.
