Violet Moon wants to be in control of the circumstances and people in her life. Particularly her son and daughter-in-law who she discovers are considering selling the farm where she has known some of the happiest times of her life. Violet's control is not only threatened by their decision, but also by the sudden reappearance of someone from her past whom she meets at a local spiritualists club. Someone who has the potential to resurrect a long buried secret as well expose her current plot to put a stop to the sale of the farm. When Violet takes the opportunity to silence this person, she doesn't consider that enemies have friends...

Anna Raymond Massey CBE (11 August 1937 - 3 July 2011) was an English stage, screen, and television actress. She was the daughter of Hollywood actor Raymond Massey.
Elizabeth Jean Spriggs -Manson (née Williams) was an English character actress.
Her roles with the Royal Shakespeare Company included Nurse in Romeo and Juliet, Gertrude in Hamlet and Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing. In 1978, she won the Olivier Award for Best Supporting Actress for Arnold Wesker's Love Letters on Blue Paper.
Her best known role in film was as Mrs. Jennings in Sense and Sensibility (1995), for which she received a BAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Her other films include Richard's Things (1980), Impromptu (1991), Paradise Road (1997) and Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001).

Ciarán Hinds (born February 9, 1953) is an Irish actor. A versatile character actor, he has appeared in feature films such as The Sum of All Fears, Road to Perdition, Munich, There Will Be Blood, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Frozen, Silence, Red Sparrow, Justice League, First Man, and Frozen II.
His television roles include Gaius Julius Caesar in the series Rome, DCI James Langton in Above Suspicion, and Mance Rayder in Game of Thrones. As a stage actor Hinds has enjoyed spells with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal National Theatre in London, and six seasons with Glasgow Citizens' Theatre, and he has continued to work on stage throughout his career.
