Callum Crane, a lawyer and would-be federal judge, jeopardizes his chances at a judgeship by forcing himself on his secretary. He then worsens the situation by trying to have the woman murdered. Further complicating matters, he assigns the task to a young man who, unbeknownst to Crane, is actually his son, Nathan. Nathan refuses to do the deed, but not before informing several people, one of whom tries to take on the job.

William Pullman (born December 17, 1953) is an American actor. After graduating with a Master of Fine Arts degree in theater, he was an adjunct professor at Montana State University before deciding to pursue acting. He made his film debut in Ruthless People (1986), and starred in Spaceballs (1987), The Accidental Tourist (1988), Sleepless in Seattle (1993), While You Were Sleeping (1995), Casper (1995), Independence Day (1996), Lost Highway (1997), and Lake Placid (1999). He has appeared frequently on television, usually in TV films. Starting in the 2000s he has also acted in miniseries and regular series, such as Torchwood (2011), starring roles in 1600 Penn (2012–13) and The Sinner (2017–2021). In 2021, he had a recurring role in the miniseries Halston.
Devon Edward Sawa (born September 7, 1978) is a Canadian actor. Sawa began acting when he was a teenager and appeared in several films in the 1990s including Little Giants, Casper, Now and Then, Wild America, Idle Hands, and Final Destination. He also played the title character of the Eminem music video "Stan" and starred as Owen Elliot in The CW action spy drama series Nikita. Sawa has also played 5 different characters in the 2021 Syfy/USA network series "Chucky".
Gabrielle Anwar (born 4 February 1970) is an English and American actress. She is known for her roles as Fiona Glenanne on Burn Notice, Margaret Tudor in the first season of The Tudors, Lady Tremaine in the seventh season of Once Upon a Time, and Sam Black in the second series of Press Gang.
She is also known for the 1991 film Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken, for dancing the tango with Al Pacino in the 1992 film Scent of a Woman, and for the 1993 films Body Snatchers, and For Love or Money.

Angela Eileen Featherstone (born 3 April 1965) is a Canadian actress. She is best-known for playing Linda, Adam Sandler's ex-girlfriend, in The Wedding Singer.
Angela Featherstone came to Manitoba from Nova Scotia with her family in 1974 and lived in Winnipeg River and Thompson before moving to Winnipeg. She attended Grant Park High School in the 1980s.

Joanne Whalley (born 25 August 1961) is an English actress who began her career in 1974. She has since amassed numerous credits, primarily on television, but also in nearly 30 feature films, including Dance with a Stranger (1985), Willow (1988), Scandal (1989), The Secret Rapture (1993) and Mother's Boys (1994). Following her marriage to Val Kilmer in 1988, she was credited as Joanne Whalley-Kilmer until their divorce in 1996.
Whalley was nominated for the BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress for the 1985 BBC serial Edge of Darkness, and was nominated for a Best Actress Golden Nymph Award at the Monte-Carlo Television Festival for the 2011 series The Borgias. Her other television roles include the 1986 BBC serial The Singing Detective; playing the title role in the 2000 CBS TV film Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis, and as Claudia, wife of Pontius Pilate in the 2015 NBC series A.D. Gillian Barber is an English-born Canadian actress. She was born in Coventry, West Midlands, England, and raised in British Columbia, Canada. She studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, and BFA program in the University of Victoria.
Duncan Fraser is a British-born Canadian actor. He is most noted for his performance in the 1985 film Overnight, for which he was a Genie Award nominee for Best Supporting Actor at the 7th Genie Awards in 1986, and his regular role as Staff Sgt. Regan in Da Vinci's Inquest, for which he was a Gemini Award nominee for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series at the 15th Gemini Awards in 2000.
Born in Manchester, England, Fraser planned to study aeronautical engineering at London University, but switched to psychology after finding engineering too technical and mathematical. Following university he travelled around the world for a number of years, before settling in the Vancouver area in 1974 and working as an actor. He spent a number of years as director of the Nanaimo Theatre Festival, and as associate director of Vancouver's Fend Players theatre company.
Fraser was also known for his regular television roles as Zack Denny in Bordertown, Mac McDougall in The Heights, Colonel Munro in Hawkeye, and Brian Brewster in Hope Island.

Hironobu Kanagawa (金川 弘敦, Kanagawa Hironobu, October 13, 1963) is a Japanese-Canadian actor and playwright based in Vancouver, British Columbia. He has appeared in numerous high-profile films and television series shot in the Vancouver area, including Smallville, Caprica, Godzilla, The Man in the High Castle, Altered Carbon, iZombie, Legends of Tomorrow, Heroes Reborn and Kim's Convenience and was a writer on Da Vinci's City Hall. As a voice-over artist, he was the original English-language voice of Gihren Zabi in the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise and played Reed Richards in Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes.
