In August of 1949, Life Magazine ran a banner headline that begged the question: "Jackson Pollock: Is he the greatest living painter in the United States?" The film is a look back into the life of an extraordinary man, a man who has fittingly been called "an artist dedicated to concealment, a celebrity who nobody knew." As he struggled with self-doubt, engaging in a lonely tug-of-war between needing to express himself and wanting to shut the world out, Pollock began a downward spiral.

Ed Harris is an American stage, film and television actor, writer, producer and director, best known for playing supporting characters in feature films such as "Apollo 13", "A Beautiful Mind", and "The Truman Show", as well as many recurring and starring roles in television shows, among them the portrayal of The Man in Black in HBO's "Westworld". He holds a BFA in Drama from the California Institute of the Arts, Valencia, USA.
Marcia Gay Harden (born August 14, 1959) is an American film and stage actress. She is the recipient of many accolades including an Academy Award and a Tony Award, in addition to nominations for a Critics' Choice Movie Award and three Primetime Emmy Awards.
She began her acting career appearing in television programs throughout the 1980s. In 1986, she appeared in her first film role, with her breakthrough coming in the 1990 Coen brothers-directed Miller's Crossing.
Her next notable film credits include The First Wives Club (1996), Flubber (1997), and Space Cowboys (2000). She received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Lee Krasner in Pollock (2000). She had a supporting role in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). She appeared in several 2007 films, including Sean Penn's Into the Wild and Frank Darabont's The Mist, based on the novella by Stephen King. In 2009, she had quite a busy year. She appeared as a regular on the FX series Damages as a shrewd corporate attorney opposite Glenn Close and William Hurt. She co-starred in the films Whip It, and The Maiden Heist. She returned to Broadway in Yasmina Reza's God of Carnage, co-starring with James Gandolfini, Hope Davis and Jeff Daniels. All three actors were nominated for a Tony Award; Harden won Best Actress in a Play. She received her first Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her role as FBI Special Agent Dana Lewis in the crime drama series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and earned a second Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her performance as Janina Krzyżanowska in the television film The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler (2009).
She reunited with her former Broadway co-star Jeff Daniels as a new cast member on HBO's series The Newsroom in 2013. In 2015, she had a starring role in the medical drama Code Black. Her other notable television credits include ABC's How to Get Away with Murder and the Apple TV+ series The Morning Show.

He is known for his television roles such as Jeffrey Brooks, the uptight neighbor of Stanley and Helen Roper in the TV sitcom The Ropers (1979–1980), as Hank Kingsley on The Larry Sanders Show (1992–1998), George Bluth Sr. and Oscar Bluth on Arrested Development (2003–2006, 2013, 2018–2019) and Maura Pfefferman on Transparent (2014–2017). For his role in the latter, Tambor earned two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series out of three nominations. Norbert Weisser (born July 9, 1946) is a German-born American film and theatre actor, probably most known for his many roles in Albert Pyun-directed movies (15 and counting). Weisser is a founding member of the Odyssey Theater and the Padua Hills Playwrights Festival, where he developed the role of Trickster in Murray Mednick's epic seven-hour The Coyote Cycle. He has played roles in theaters throughout Europe and the US, including Broadway, where he played Rode opposite Ed Harris in Ronald Harwood's Taking Sides at the Brooks Atkinson Theater. Most recently he played Oskar in John O'Keefe's Times Like These in San Francisco, Albany, New York and Los Angeles, where he received an Ovation Award, an LA Weekly Theater Award and an LA Drama Critics Circle nomination for his performance. Weisser has directed plays at the Magic Theater in San Francisco and at the Mark Taper Forum's New Playwrights Festival in Los Angeles. Recently he produced two Albert Pyun films, Infection and Cool Air. He is the father of fellow actor Morgan Weisser, who starred in both movies.
