James Hugh Calum Laurie CBE is an English actor, director, singer, musician, comedian, and author. He is known for portraying the title character on the Fox medical drama series House (2004–2012), for which he received two Golden Globe Awards and nominations for numerous other awards. He was listed in the 2011 Guinness World Records as the most watched leading man on television and was one of the highest-paid actors in a television drama, earning £250,000 ($409,000) per episode of House.
His other television credits include arms dealer Richard Onslow Roper in the miniseries The Night Manager (2016), for which he won his third Golden Globe Award, and Senator Tom James in the HBO sitcom Veep (2012–2019), for which he received his 10th Emmy Award nomination.
Forced to abandon rowing during a bout of glandular fever, he joined the Cambridge Footlights, a university dramatic club that has produced many well-known actors and comedians. Regarded as one of the finest actresses of her generation, she has received numerous accolades throughout her career spanning over four decades, including two Academy Awards, three BAFTA Awards, two Golden Globe Awards and a Primetime Emmy Award. In 2018, she was made a Dame (DBE) by Queen Elizabeth II for services to drama.
Born to actors Eric Thompson and Phyllida Law, Thompson was educated at Newnham College, Cambridge, where she became a member of the Footlights troupe, and appeared in the comedy sketch series Alfresco (1983–1984). In 1985, she starred in the West End revival of the musical Me and My Girl, which was a breakthrough in her career. James Purefoy (born 3 June 1964) is an English actor. He played Marc Antony in the HBO series Rome, college professor turned serial killer Joe Carroll in the series The Following, and Solomon Kane in the film of the same name. Richard Leaf (born 1967) is a British actor. He has had several small parts in television and stage productions. Leaf is married to actress Tamsin Greig, star of Black Books, Green Wing and Love Soup. The actor is notable for his role as the Governor of York, nephew of Edward I of England in Mel Gibson's Braveheart. Also, he appeared recently as John Dawlish, an Auror, in the film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. He also plays the adolescent / father Hannibal Lecter in the 2007 Hannibal Rising movie.

Paul Ready is a British actor. He is known principally for his work on stage, but he has also appeared in television, radio and films. He received a commendation at the 2003 Ian Charleson Awards. In 2018, he played the role of Rob MacDonald in the BBC television series Bodyguard.
Ready was born in Birmingham and growing up in the town of Harborne he attended King Edward VI Five Ways school within the city. He went on to train at London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
At the age of 17, Ready played Romeo in the National Youth Theatre production of Romeo and Juliet at London's Bloomsbury Theatre, playing opposite Rosamund Pike who played Juliet.
He is a regular at the National and Royal Court theaters. Recent appearances have included leading parts in Major Barbara and Saint Joan (both plays by George Bernard Shaw) and Time and the Conways. His West End credits include One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest which starred Christian Slater.
