Casper Van Dien's breakthrough role was as the lead in Paul Verhoeven's sci-fi film Starship Troopers (1997). Still one of the most talked about films of 1997 that has one of the largest cult followings in film history. He was also in Tim Burton's critically acclaimed film Sleepy Hollow (1999), as Brom Bones. He was the 20th Tarzan and the only one to ever film in Africa and ride an African elephant in the Warner Bros. film Tarzan and the Lost City (1998).
Other film credits include The Pact (2012), which was well received at Sundance. Casper played a down and out alcoholic detective opposite Caity Lotz. A Post Apocalyptic survivor in Beyond The Wave (2015) shot entirely in China. Starring opposite Sean Maher as part of a two man crew on a mission to the end of the universe in the much anticipated independent film ISRA 88 (2016) . Television credits include "MONK" (2008) Playing a Navy Doctor for the season finale, and "Beverly Hills, 90210" (1994).

After performing on-stage with the Royal National Theatre, he had a breakthrough in films by playing Tybalt in Franco Zeffirelli's Romeo and Juliet (1968). His blond, blue-eyed boyish looks and English upper social class demeanor saw him play leading roles in several major British and Hollywood films of the 1970s. His best known roles include Konrad Ludwig in Something for Everyone (1970), Geoffrey Richter-Douglas in Zeppelin (1971), Brian Roberts in Cabaret (1972), George Conway in Lost Horizon (1973), D'Artagnan in The Three Musketeers (also 1973) and its two sequels, Count Andrenyi in Murder on the Orient Express (1974), Logan 5 in Logan's Run (1976).
In his later career he found success as Basil Exposition in the Austin Powers film series (1997–2002). He is a two-time Emmy Award nominee, for the ABC Afterschool Special: Are You My Mother? (1986) and the AMC series The Lot (2001).
In 2002, he received a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contributions to motion pictures.

William Michael Hootkins was born on July 5, 1948, in Dallas, Texas. He moved to London, England in the early '70s and lived there up until 2002. Hootkins was an actor at Theatre Intime while attending Princeton University where he learned how to speak fluent Mandarin Chinese. He also trained as an actor at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, and attended St. Marks, where he was in the same theater group as Tommy Lee Jones. The imposingly bulky and heavyset Hootkins first began acting in films and TV shows alike in the mid '70s. His more noteworthy parts include the first of the Rebel fighter pilots to get killed while attacking the Death Star in "Star Wars", scientist Topol's bumbling oaf assistant in "Flash Gordon", Major Eaton, sent by the US government in "Raiders of the Lost Ark", one of Rod Steiger's demented sons in "American Gothic", a corrupt police lieutenant in "Batman", a disgusting sleazy voyeur in "Hardware", a coarse South African police chief in "Dust Devil", the mysterious and duplicitous Mr. X in "Hear My Song", a haughty corporate executive in "Death Machine", Santa Claus in "Like Father, Like Santa", and an opera-singing vampire in "The Breed". From earliest childhood, Walter Williamson wanted to be an actor. During his teen years in Richmond Virginia he acted, wrote, designed and directed for numerous community theaters before beginning formal studies at Virginia Commonwealth University. Mentoring by Robert John Versteeg at Louisburg College in North Carolina followed. Tapped by director Joe Layton to play Gov. White in the long running Paul Green outdoor drama, The Lost Colony, Williamson helped found the annual Elizabethan Festival there before going off to London as an international finalist for The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. On his return he began a series of jobs in dinner theaters, stock companies and repertory companies all over the east coast. The Barter Theater in Abingdon, Virginia was his first Equity assignment, followed by long associations with The Flat Rock Playhouse and The Virginia Museum Theater. New York called and Williamson worked constantly in OffBroadway and touring productions for several years. A long standing interest in writing surfaced and Williamson produced four books directed at young readers about theater and other subjects along with several plays. A move to Los Angeles in the early 1990s brought about several assignments for Adam Sandler as well as numerous other roles. Currently he divides his time between acting and writing and has recently sold his first screenplay. Single now, Williamson has one daughter by a previous marriage who just graduated from college.
