In the seventies Strange Fruit were it. They lived the rock lifestyle to the max, groupies, drugs, internal tension and an ex front man dead from an overdose. Even their demise was glamorous; when lightning struck the stage during an outdoor festival. 20 years on and these former rock gods they have now sunk deep into obscurity when the idea of a reunion tour is lodged in the head of Tony, former keyboard player of the Fruits. Tony sets out to find his former bandmates with the help of former manager Karen to see if they can recapture the magic and give themselves a second chance.

A Scottish comedian, musician, presenter and actor. He is sometimes known, especially in his native Scotland, by the nickname The Big Yin (The Big One). His first trade, in the early 1960s, was as a welder (specifically a boilermaker) in the Glasgow shipyards, but he gave it up towards the end of the decade to pursue a career as a folk singer in the Humblebums and subsequently as a soloist. In the early 1970s he made the transition from folk-singer with a comedic persona to fully-fledged comedian, a role in which he continues. Timothy Leonard Spall (born February 27, 1957) is an English actor and presenter. He became a household name in the UK after appearing as Barry Spencer Taylor in the 1983 ITV comedy-drama series Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.
Spall performed in Secrets & Lies (1996), and was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Subsequently, he starred in many films, including Hamlet (1996), Still Crazy (1998), Nicholas Nickleby (2002), The Last Samurai (2003), Enchanted (2007), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (2007), The Damned United (2009), The King's Speech (2010), Ginger and Rosa (2012), Denial (2016), and The Party (2017). William Francis Nighy (born 12 December 1949) is an English actor. Known for his work on screen and stage, he has received numerous awards, including two BAFTA Awards, a Golden Globe Award and nominations for an Academy Award and a Tony Award.
Nighy started his career with the Everyman Theatre, Liverpool and made his London debut with the Royal National Theatre starting with The Illuminatus! in 1977. There he gained acclaim for his roles in David Hare's Pravda in 1985, Harold Pinter's Betrayal in 1991, Tom Stoppard's Arcadia in 1993, and Anton Chekov's The Seagull in 1994. He received a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor nomination for his performance in Blue/Orange in 2001. He made his Broadway debut in Hare's The Vertical Hour in 2006, and returned in the 2015 revival of Hare's Skylight earning a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play nomination.

Juliet Aubrey (born 17 December 1966) is an English actress of theatre, film, and television. She won the 1995 BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress for playing Dorothea in the BBC serial Middlemarch (1994). She is also known for her role as Helen Cutter in the ITV series Primeval (2007–11). Her film appearances include Still Crazy (1998), The Constant Gardener (2005) and The Infiltrator (2016).
Helena Bergström (born 5 February 1964 in Kortedala, Gothenburg) is a Swedish actress.
The granddaughter of legendary Swedish actor Olof Widgren and the daughter of Hans Bergström (director) and Kerstin Widgren (actress). Bergström is married to Colin Nutley and is known for playing the female lead in many of his films. Being one of Sweden’s most highly acclaimed stage actresses she has played the lead part in plays like ”Miss Julie”, ”Twelfth Night”, ”Pygmalion”, ”Piaf”, "A Dolls House", the part of Hamlet in “Hamlet”, “Medea” and Blanche in “A Streetcar Named Desire”. In the autumn of 2008 she will play the part of Sally Bowles in Stockholm City Theatre’s production of “Cabaret”.
Despite being born into a theatrical family, Bergström's childhood dream was to work with animals. Aged 15, she travelled to Mississippi in the US as an exchange student and lived there for a year. During this time, she became fascinated with the theatre and decided that the stage was her calling. Back in Sweden, she won a part in a TV series but failed in her first attempt to achieve a place at stage school. Thanks to tuition from Margreth Weivers, she succeeded on her third attempt in 1985.
On graduating from the Swedish National Academy of Mime and Acting in 1988, she worked at both the Dramaten Theatre and the Stockholm City Theatre. Her breakthrough came with the film 1939 in 1989. Colin Nutley spotted her on a poster for the film "Women on the roof" Kvinnorna på taket (1989) and gave her the leading role in his film Blackjack (1990). She was also the obvious choice for his film Änglagård (1992) as well as its sequel ”House of Angels – the Second Summer”. In 1998 she played the part of Astrid in the English production ”Still Crazy” which was to be followed by Colin Nutley’s Oscar-nominated ”Under the Sun” - a film that also received the Special Jury Prize at the San Sebastian Film Festival "for the quality of its acting".
Winner of several awards including Best Actress at the Swedish Film Awards, the Montreal Film Festival and the 1995 Istanbul Film Festival for her performance in Nutley’s ”The Last Dance”.
In 2007 she made her directorial debut with “Mind the Gap” (Se upp för dårarna).
Has two children, a son and a daughter, with Nutley.
Bruce Robinson (born 2 May 1946) is an English director, screenwriter, novelist and actor. He is arguably most famous for writing and directing the cult classic Withnail and I, a film with comic and tragic elements, set in London during the 1960s which drew on his experiences as ' a chronic alcoholic and resting actor, living in squalor' in Camden Town.
As an actor, he has worked with the likes of Franco Zeffirelli (on whom he based the character of Uncle Monty in Withnail and I), Ken Russell and François Truffaut. In 1998, he returned to acting with a cameo in the 70s rock rival film Still Crazy.
Robinson currently lives in Herefordshire with his wife, Sophie Windham, he has two children, Lily India (b. 1986) and Willoughby (b. 1994).

Rupert William Penry-Jones (born 22 September 1970) is an English actor, the son of Welsh actor Peter Penry-Jones and English actress Angela Thorne. He is best known for his role as Adam Carter in the BBC spy drama Spooks, as well as other television roles such as Silk, Whitechapel and Black Sails.
Francis Magee (born 7 June 1959) is an Irish actor. He portrayed Liam Tyler in British soap opera EastEnders from 1993 to 1995. He has also appeared in numerous television shows and feature films, including Sahara (2005), Layer Cake (2004) and The Calling (2000). He played the part of Ordgar, the Housecarl who led the Crowhurst contingent, in 1066 The Battle for Middle Earth (2009), a reconstruction of the year of the three battles from the English perspective.
He was raised in Ireland and on the Isle of Man. He spent eight years as a fisherman before becoming an actor and has also been a member of several music groups including Namoza - who released four singles and an album - and Disco D'Oro.
He studied acting at the Poor School at London's Kings Cross.

He shot to fame playing Gareth Keenan in the BBC sitcom The Office and went on to play Ragetti in the Pirates of the Caribbean films. She appeared in British television programmes from the 1970s, with her first notable appearances including roles in Beryl's Lot, The History of Mr. Polly and The Spoils of War. She then played Joyce Smedley in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street from 1996 to 1997. After further appearances in various series, she joined the cast of the BBC soap opera Doctors as Vivien March in 2007. She stayed in the role for two years, which won her the British Soap Award for Best Dramatic Performance in 2009.

An actor and stunt performer known for Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace, Saving Private Ryan, Spectre and Fury. Taylor Murphy was born in Lambeth and lived in Battersea South London; early on in his career he trained as a stuntman, then as an actor at 'The Poor School' the famous drama school in London's Kings Cross and then later the Hansen Actors Studio in Hollywood, California. Taylor Murphy originally trained as a stuntman but due to an accident while training could no longer continue, so he became an actor instead.
