John and Debbie Challender have been trying to conceive a child for ten years. Because this hasn't worked they adopted a son, but Debbie still feels she has missed out on something not knowing what it's like to feel life inside of her. They decide to seek treatment from a so-called 'miracle doctor' Ash at Irvine University. Although John doesn't like the doctor they go ahead with the treatment, which almost kills Debbie. All ends well though and they become the parents of another son. Meanwhile the office manager of Dr. Ash's clinic become more and more suspicious when she finds out that some of his nurses are not licensed RN's.

Mary Lucy Denise Henner (born April 6, 1952), known professionally as Marilu Henner, is an American actress, producer, and New York Times best-selling author best-known for her role as Elaine O'Connor Nardo on the sitcom Taxi from 1978 to 1983.

Linda Lavin (October 15, 1937 - December 29, 2024) was an American actress and singer. She was known for playing the title character in the sitcom "Alice" and for her stage performances, both on and off-Broadway.
After acting as a child, Lavin joined the Compass Players in the late 1950s. She began appearing on Broadway in the 1960s, earning notice in "It's a Bird... It's a Plane... It's Superman" in 1966 and receiving her first Tony Award nomination for "Last of the Red Hot Lovers" in 1970. She moved to Hollywood in 1973 and began to work on television, making recurring appearances on the sitcom "Barney Miller" before landing the title role on the hit comedy "Alice," which ran from 1976 to 1985. She appeared in many telefilms and later she appeared in other TV works. She has also played roles in several feature films.
In 1987, she returned to Broadway, starring in "Broadway Bound" (winning a Tony Award), "Gypsy" (1990), "The Sisters Rosensweig" (1993), "The Diary of Anne Frank" (1997–1998) and "The Tale of the Allergist's Wife" (2000–2001), among others. In 2010, she appeared as Ruth Steiner in "Collected Stories," garnering her fifth Tony nomination. She starred in NBC's short-lived sitcom "Sean Saves the World" as Lorna and the CBS sitcom "9JKL." She also starred in the CBS sitcom "B Positive."

Pamela Dunlap is known for many movie roles starting on Ironside (1967), more recently I Am Sam (2001), The Holiday (2006), Changeling (2008), and most recently Wetlands (2017). She is known for many guest appearances on television series, Happy Days (1974), Law & Order (1990), Boston Legal (2004), and five appearances on Mad Men (2007), Castle (2009), Girls (2012), and Maron (2013). She is bi-coastal, living in New York City and Los Angeles, California USA. While in New York she has been seen on Broadway in "Musical Comedy Murders of 1940," "Redwood Curtain," and "Yerma," and in several Off-Broadway roles. In Southern California, she has performed at the Los Angeles Ahmanson Theater, Costa Mesa South Coast Repertory, LA Theatre Works, and the Los Angeles Fountain Theater. At The Fountain she played Rochelle - a middle-aged, out-of-shape Jewish woman who's undergoing a crisis of faith - Dunlap was persuaded to join a flamenco class for other middle-aged, women. The production united two of the Fountain's specialties - plays and the subject of flamenco.

Marva Hicks was an R&B singer and actress who signed with Polydor in the late '80s and her debut LP, Marva Hicks, followed in 1991.
She scored her biggest chart hit with the single "Never Been in Love Before" which peaked at number seven, while two singles followed.
