Michele Placido was born on May 19, 1946 in Ascoli Satriano, Puglia, Italy. He is an actor, director and screenwriter, known for La piovra (1984), Romanzo Criminale (2005) and Un eroe borghese (1995).
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Fabrizio Bentivoglio (born January 4, 1957) is an Italian cinema and theatre actor and a screenwriter. Fabrizio Bentivoglio was born in Milan (his father is Venetian). After only one season in the juvenile team of Inter, he left his sporting career because of an injury to his left knee and attended the school of the Piccolo Teatro in Milan. He debuted on stage acting in Timone d'Atene by William Shakespeare and also pursued his artistic career in cinema. Continuing his studies in medicine, he then moved to Rome. With Dario de Luca and in association with Studio Universal he founded the Tipota Movie Company. With the band Piccola Orchestra Avion Travel he has staged the show La guerra vista dalla luna. He has also filmed the short film Típota (1999) and has completed a tour performing his own songs. The soundtrack of Eternity and a Day (Italy/France/Greece, 1998) by Theo Angelopoulos contains the track The Poet, with Bentivoglio's voice. Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu is a French actress and the daughter of French actor Philippe Leroy-Beaulieu. After spending her childhood in Italy, she went to Paris at 16 to study drama against the advice of her parents; her father, actor Philippe Leroy-Beaulieu, especially tried to keep her from pursuing a career that followed in his footsteps but was unsuccessful. After appearing on the stage, she made her screen début in Roger Vadim's 1983 film Surprise Party. In 1985, she played her first major screen role (and earned a nomination for the César Award for Most Promising Actress), playing the distraught mother in Trois hommes et un couffin (Three Men And A Cradle). The success of Coline Serreau's comedy helped her film career and a string of parts in costume films followed such films as Andrzej Wajda's Les Possédés in 1988, Philippe Le Guay's Les Deux Fragonard, and Robert Enrico's and Richard T. Heffron's La Révolution Française(Mademoiselle Leroy-Beaulieu acted out the role of Charlotte Corday in the latter production), whose release in 1989 was timed to coincide with celebrations for the bi-centenary of the 1789 Revolution. She starred in the title role of the French film Natalia, which was screened at the 1988 Cannes Film Festival. In the United States, Leroy-Beaulieu first became known for the role of Fauve Mistral in the 1984 mini-series version of Judith Krantz's novel Mistral's Daughter. Born in 1930 in Genoa. Still a young student in 1950 when director Carlo Lizzani gave him a role in the film Achtung Banditi!. Following this experience he traveled to Rome where, after acting in film and theatre, he became the Assistant Director of Lizzani, Gillo Pontecorvo, Sergio Leone, Francesco Rosi. In 1960 he made his debut as a Director with Tiro Al piccione, a film about the Partisan Resistance, on competition at the 1961 Venice Film Festival. In 1964 he directed La Moglie Svedese, an episode of the film Extraconiugale. With his second movie, Una Bella Grinta, won the special prize of the jury at the Berlin Film Festival in 1965, a film about a social climber in Italy during the time of the economic miracle. That year he also directed the second unit of Pontecorvo's masterpiece The Battle Of Algiers.
