Clive Russell was raised in Fife, Scotland, from 3 months old. He originally trained as a teacher, but when his drama lecturer resigned and took over a theatre in the provincial town of Bolton, Lancaster, Russell joined him. Russell has been working solely in film and television since 1991.
Ewen Bremner (born January 23, 1972) is a Scottish character actor. His roles have included Julien in Julien Donkey-Boy and Daniel "Spud" Murphy in Trainspotting and its 2017 sequel T2 Trainspotting. Bremner was born in Edinburgh, the son of two art teachers. He attended Davidson's Mains Primary School and Portobello High School. He originally wanted to be a circus clown, but was offered a chance at screen acting by television director Richard D. Brooks. One of his first notable roles was as a Glasgow schoolboy in Charles Gormley's Heavenly Pursuits (1986). He also played the lead in the BBC Scotland feature-length adaptation of the William McIlvanney short story "Dreaming" (1990). Bremner portrayed Spud in Danny Boyle's film adaptation of Irvine Welsh's 1993 novel Trainspotting, and later Mullet, a street thug in Guy Ritchie's Snatch. In the 1994 stage version of Trainspotting, Bremner played the lead role of Mark Renton, the role played by Ewan McGregor in the 1996 film. He has played supporting roles in blockbusters such as Pearl Harbor and Black Hawk Down. In 2017 he produced the short film No Song to Sing. He has one daughter, with actress Marcia Rose, whom he met during the filming of Skin.
Peter Mullan (born 2 November 1959) is a Scottish stage, film and television actor and director, best known for playing supporting roles in feature films such as "Braveheart" and "Trainspotting", and for starring as the titular character Joe Kavanagh in "My Name Is Joe".
Bronagh Gallagher (born April 26, 1972) is an Irish singer and actress from Derry, Northern Ireland. During her teens she got involved, through school, in drama and music activities, and joined a local amateur dramatics group, the Oakgrove Theatre Company. At one time she was a backing singer in a local band, The Listener. Her big break came when she starred as Bernie in The Commitments. She has also appeared in such films as Thunderpants, You, Me & Marley, Divorcing Jack, Pulp Fiction, Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace and Last Chance Harvey, Sherlock Holmes, and on stage in a Théâtre de Complicité production of The Street of Crocodiles. Her first album Precious Soul was released in 2004 on the Salty Dog Records label and was produced by John Reynolds. The album features collaborations with Brian Eno on the songs "He Don't Love You" and "Hooks". Gallagher wrote most of the music on the album, played the drums and sang lead vocals.
