Dame Judith Olivia "Judi" Dench, CH, DBE, FRSA (born 9 December 1934) is an English film, stage and television actress.
Dench made her professional debut in 1957 with the Old Vic Company. Over the following few years she played in several of William Shakespeare's plays in such roles as Ophelia in Hamlet, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet and Lady Macbeth in Macbeth. Her TV credits include the recurring character Greer Thornton in 4 of the 6 episodes of State of Play, and in the episode The French Drop (2004) in Foyle's War. She also appeared in 4 episodes of the 2001 series of The Armstrong and Miller Show. In Autumn 2007 she appeared with Judi Dench, Imelda Staunton and Francesca Annis in the BBC1 costume drama series Cranford playing the role of the endless spinster Miss Augusta Tompkinson as well as in Wilfred Owen: A Remembrance Tale. She portrayed Home Secretary Denise Riley in Torchwood's 2009 third series Children of Earth, and featured as lawyer Gemma King in one episode of the BBC1 series Silent Witness in January 2010.
In 2008 she starred in the US premiere of Vincent River by Philip Ridley. In 2009 she appeared, again alongside Judi Dench in a Donmar West End revival of Madame de Sade, and reprised her (in this case more prominent) role as Augusta Tompkinson in the two-part Christmas special Return to Cranford.

John Grillo (born 29 November 1942, Watford, Hertfordshire) is a British actor and playwright who has appeared in many film and television productions.
He was educated at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, and while there was actively involved in student theatre. He performed with Footlights in their annual revue. After Cambridge, he was awarded an Arts Council Playwrighting Bursary and his plays were performed at Nottingham, Glasgow, Oxford and Dublin as well as at the ADC Theatre in Cambridge. He played Mr. Samgrass in the ITV series Brideshead Revisited, and Phillip Marriott QC in Crown Court. He had minor parts in other shows, including Blackadder II ("Bells"), Bergerac, Taggart and Rumpole of the Bailey.
In 1997 he appeared as Mr Carkdale, the English teacher who spoke only in Anglo-Saxon, in two series of Steven Moffat's school-sitcom Chalk. In 2008, he contributed to the audio commentary for the DVD release.

Richard Leaf (born 1967) is a British actor. He has had several small parts in television and stage productions. Leaf is married to actress Tamsin Greig, star of Black Books, Green Wing and Love Soup. The actor is notable for his role as the Governor of York, nephew of Edward I of England in Mel Gibson's Braveheart. Also, he appeared recently as John Dawlish, an Auror, in the film Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. He also plays the adolescent / father Hannibal Lecter in the 2007 Hannibal Rising movie.
