Student nurses join some doctors to work in a medical station a few hours flying-time from the Mexican town of Catamaco. One of their planes goes down due to an engine malfunction and crashes in the rain forest. This is the story of the attempts to save the lives of the passengers (both nurses and doctors).

Salvatore "Robert" Loggia (January 3, 1930 – December 4, 2015) was an American actor. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for Jagged Edge (1985) and won the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor for Big (1988).
In a career spanning over sixty years, Loggia performed in many films, including The Greatest Story Ever Told (1965), three Pink Panther films, An Officer and a Gentleman (1982), Scarface (1982), Prizzi's Honor (1985), Oliver & Company (1988), Innocent Blood (1992), Independence Day (1996), Lost Highway (1997), Return to Me (2000), and Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie (2012).

David Clennon (born May 10, 1943) is an American actor perhaps best known for his portrayal of Miles Drentel in the ABC series Thirtysomething, a role he reprised on Once and Again.
Clennon was born in Waukegan, Illinois, the son of Virginia, a homemaker, and Cecil Clennon, an accountant. Clennon is well known for his political activism.
In 1980, David Clennon provided the voice for Admiral Motti in NPR's Star Wars The Original Radio Drama. He was a regular on the TV shows Almost Perfect, The Agency and Saved. Most recently, Clennon played Carl Sessick (a.k.a Carl the Watcher) on Ghost Whisperer.
In 1993 he won an Emmy award for his guest appearance on the series Dream On.

Pedro Armendáriz Bohr (April 6, 1940 – December 26, 2011), better known by his stage name Pedro Armendáriz, Jr., was a Mexican actor who made films and television series from United States and Mexico. Pedro Armendáriz Bohr was born in Mexico City, to Mexican actor Pedro Armendáriz and Carmela Bohr. Armendáriz appeared in the James Bond film, Licence to Kill as president Hector Lopez. He also appeared in: Amistad (1997), The Mask of Zorro (1998), The Mexican (2001), Original Sin (2001), In the Time of the Butterflies (2001), Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003), And Starring Pancho Villa as Himself (2003), The Legend of Zorro (2005), and Freelancers (2012). In November 2011, Armendáriz was diagnosed with eye cancer. He died of the disease on December 26, 2011, at age 71, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. His remains were buried at Panteón Jardín in Mexico City.
David Villalpando (born January 2, 1959 in Mexico City, Mexico) is a Mexican actor. His break out role was in the film El Norte (1983). Since then he's had small roles in American films such as The Arrival, The Mask of Zorro, and the John Sayles film Men with Guns (1997). He was also in an episode in the television series Acapulco H.E.A.T., and has done a lot of work in Mexican cinema. Jorge Damián Alcázar Castello is a renowned Mexican actor, born in Jiquilpan, Michoacan, on January 8, 1953. One of the most talented and recognized contemporary actors, Damián studied at the National Institute of Fine Arts, and later studied at the Centro of Theater Experimentation and, later, at the Faculty of Theater at the Universidad Veracruzana, where, years later, he would be a teacher. After several years in the theater, Damián made his film debut with The Center of the Labyrinth (1985), and later worked in films such as Romero (1989), The Naked City (1989), Bandidos (1991), Mujer del Puerto (1991). ), Lolo (1993), where he would win his first Ariel award, for best male co-acting, and Two crimes (1994), by Roberto Sneider, for which he was nominated, again, for the Ariel.
