William Seward Burroughs II (February 5, 1914 – August 2, 1997) was an American writer and visual artist, widely considered a primary figure of the Beat Generation and a major postmodern author who influenced popular culture and literature. Burroughs wrote eighteen novels and novellas, six collections of short stories and four collections of essays, and five books have been published of his interviews and correspondences; he was initially briefly known by the pen name William Lee. He also collaborated on projects and recordings with numerous performers and musicians, made many appearances in films, and created and exhibited thousands of visual artworks, including his celebrated "Shotgun Art". David Paul Cronenberg, CC, OOnt, FRSC (born March 15, 1943 in Toronto, Ontario) is widely regarded as Canada's most influential and internationally celebrated filmmaker. Cronenberg has made a significant impact on genre cinema in Canada. Nicknamed "The Baron of Blood" and "The King of Venereal Horror," he has pushed boundaries with his controversial horror movies. His unique style of "body horror" films, including "Shivers" (1975), "The Brood" (1979), "Scanners" (1981), "Videodrome" (1983), "The Fly" (1986), "Dead Ringers" (1988), "Naked Lunch" (1991), and "Crash" (1996), have captivated audiences with their thought-provoking exploration of the complex relationship between sex, technology, and violence. Cronenberg's contributions to the film industry have been recognized with numerous awards and honours, including being a Companion of the Order of Canada, a Chevalier of the Ordre des Arts et Lettres de France, and a member of Canada's Walk of Fame. He has received 10 Genie Awards and has been honoured at prestigious international film festivals, as well as receiving lifetime achievement awards from the Governor General's Performing Arts Awards, the Canadian Screen Awards, the Cannes Film Festival, and the Venice Film Festival. Cronenberg has been married twice: first to sound recordist Margaret Hindson, from 1970 to 1977, with whom he had one daughter, Cassandra Cronenberg (born 1972); then to cinematographer Carolyn Zeifman, from 1979 until her death in 2017, with whom he had one son, Brandon Cronenberg (born 1980), and one daughter, Caitlin Cronenberg (born 1984).

He was the producer of Bernardo Bertolucci's The Last Emperor, which won the 1988 Academy Award for Best Picture. In 2006 he received a European Film Award for Outstanding European Achievement in World Cinema. His father was director Ralph Thomas (director of many of the "Doctor" films), while his uncle Gerald Thomas directed many of the Carry On Films. Peter Frederick Weller (born June 24, 1947) is an American film and stage actor, director and lecturer. He is best known for his roles as the title character in the first two RoboCop films and Buckaroo Banzai in the cult classic The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. He received an Academy Award nomination for his direction for the 1993 short Partners, in which he also acted. He also hosted the show Engineering an Empire on the History channel. He played Stan Liddy in the 5th Season of the Showtime original series, Dexter.
