Maria (Carol Kane) is the wife of a murdered Mafia bookkeeper. With her baby in tow, she tracks the hitman to the airport, intending to shoot the man. A pickpocket causes the gun to discharge prematurely, and now it's Maria who is being pursued. She commandeers a cab driven by Ernie (Judge Reinhold), and the chase is on.

Carolyn Laurie Kane (born June 18, 1952) is an American actress and comedian.
She became known in the 1970s in films such as Hester Street (for which she received an Oscar nomination) and Annie Hall. She appeared on the television series Taxi in the early 1980s, as Simka Gravas, the wife of Latka, the character played by Andy Kaufman, winning two Emmy Awards for her work. She has played the character of Madame Morrible in the musical Wicked, both in regional productions and on Broadway from 2005 to 2014. From 2015 to 2018 she was a main cast member on the Netflix original series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, in which she played Lillian Kaushtupper.
David Fox (born 1941 in Swastika, Ontario) is a Canadian actor. He is best known for his role as schoolteacher Clive Pettibone in Road to Avonlea, and for a variety of roles on television. He also was the voice of Captain Haddock in The Adventures of Tintin.
In 1996 he was nominated for a Genie Award for the film When Night is Falling, and in 2008 he was nominated for a Gemini Award for the television miniseries Across the River to Motor City.

Kay Hawtrey, born Katharine Mary Craven Hawtrey, later Katharine Mary Craven Clark, was born on November 8, 1926, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She was an actress, who embarked on her career at Toronto’s Hart House Theatre. Following a year-long engagement at London's Embassy Theatre, she ventured into television during the "Golden Age of Television" in the 1950s. Credited as Kay Hawtrey, she notably portrayed Mrs. Lutz in 15 episodes of "The Great Detective," starring Douglas Campbell. Also known for Videodrome (1983), Urban Legend (1998) and Funeral Home (1980). She was previously married to John Clark. Her career spanned both stage and screen, showcasing her talents during this pivotal era of television. She died on June 11, 2021 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
