After the break up of her marriage, photographer Samantha Taylor retreats to the sanctuary of friend Caroline Lord's California ranch. Samantha falls in love with ranch hand Tate Jordan, and they share a deep and passionate love until Tate finds out that Samantha's ex-husband is popular and wealthy news anchor Warren Taylor. Ashamed he leaves the ranch, Samantha is heartbroken. Samantha breaks her back in an accident and is paralysed, and must learn how to walk - and ride - again. Caroline Lord tragically dies but leaves her ranch to Samantha, who turns it into a riding school for paralysed children. Through this enterprise, she begins to heal from the pain of Tate's desertion, the loss of her friend and her own paralysis. Tate returns to the ranch after hearing of Caroline's death and finds Samantha there. Can they both overcome their own demons and learn to love each other again??

Frost, who was born in Los Angeles, California, is the daughter of actor Warren Frost, and sister of Mark Frost and writer Scott Frost. She is married to actor Rick Giolito. Frost appeared on Crossing Jordan in the recurring role of Maggie from 2001 to 2006. In recent years she has also guest starred in a number of series including Lost, Boston Legal, Shark, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami, and Frasier. Frost is known for playing the role of Betsy Stewart Andropoulos on the daytime soap opera As The World Turns from 1984 to 1988, a role which was previously played by actress Meg Ryan. She has also appeared in the cult films The Ring (2002), as Ruth Embry, and Dead Heat (1988), as Randi James.

She won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the drama film "On the Waterfront" (1954), and later starred in the thriller film "North by Northwest" (1959), directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Saint received Golden Globe and BAFTA award nominations for the drama film "A Hatful of Rain" (1957) and won an Emmy Award for the television miniseries People Like Us (1990). Her most notable subsequent movies included "Raintree County" (1957), Otto Preminger’s "Exodus" (1960), Vincente Minnelli’s "The Sandpiper" (1965), the Cold War comedy "The Russians Are Coming! Rodney Sturt "Rod" Taylor (born 11 January 1930 – 7 January 2015) was an Australian-born American actor of film and television. He appeared in over 50 films, including leading roles in The Time Machine, Seven Seas to Calais, The Birds, Sunday in New York, Young Cassidy, Dark of the Sun, The Liquidator, and The Train Robbers.
Lee Arthur Horsley is an American film, television, and theater actor known for starring roles in the television series Nero Wolfe, Matt Houston, and Paradise. He starred in the 1982 film The Sword and the Sorcerer and recorded the audiobook edition of Lonesome Dove.
Horsley began his acting career touring in stage productions of West Side Story, Damn Yankees, and Oklahoma!. In 1981, he portrayed TV detective Archie Goodwin in the short-lived NBC drama series Nero Wolfe. He played the title character in the detective series Matt Houston, as well as Ethan Allen Cord in the Western Heritage Award-winning series Paradise. This was followed by a lead role on Bodies of Evidence.
He appeared in the feature-length cult film The Sword and the Sorcerer in 1982, and appeared in its sequel Tales of an Ancient Empire in 2010. He recorded the audiobook edition of Larry McMurtry's Lonesome Dove. In 2006, Horsley and Marshall R. Teague traveled the world in search of exotic game on the Outdoor Life Network for the reality show, Benelli's Dream Hunts. In 2012. he appeared in the Quentin Tarantino film Django Unchained, as Sheriff Gus, and also has a role as a stagecoach driver in Tarantino's 2015 western The Hateful Eight.

Early in his career, Greene was frequently featured in westerns, but was credited with over 100 television films appearances, including the 1962 film This is Not a Test (as Mike Green), as well as a leading role in the 1973 film The Clones.

Rose Portillo is an accomplished American actress/writer/director/educator and visual artist whose stage and film career began with a lead role in Luis Valdez's 'Zoot Suit' (original L.A. and Broadway productions and the film). She played the role of Mother in the critically acclaimed 2017 revival, starring Demián Bichir. She was Associate Director of About Productions, now celebrating 24 years of creating original Theaterworks and founded the company's Young Theaterworks, which serves students in Continuation/Options High Schools primarily in East Los Angeles. Since appearing in Theresa Chavez's solo play, L.A. Real, she has directly partnered with Chavez (the company's Artistic Director) on at least 10 critically acclaimed productions.
