Winona Laura Horowitz (born October 29, 1971), known professionally as Winona Ryder, is an American actress. She is the recipient of several awards, including a Golden Globe Award, and has been nominated for two Academy Awards. She is known for taking on quirky roles in her earlier films, later playing more prominent roles in the 1990s.
After Ryder's film debut in Lucas (1986), she gained attention with her performance in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice (1988). Jeffrey Warren "Jeff" Daniels (born February 19, 1955) is an American actor, musician and playwright. He founded a non-profit theatre company, the Purple Rose Theatre Company, in his home state of Michigan. He has performed in a number of stage productions, both on and off Broadway. He has been nominated for the Tony Award as Best Actor for the Broadway play God of Carnage (2009), along with his other three cast-mates.
He has had a thriving film career, from his debut in 1981 in Ragtime, through State of Play in 2009. For his film work, he has received three Golden Globe Award nominations, including as Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Comedy/Musical for Woody Allen's The Purple Rose of Cairo (1985) (hence the name of his theatre company). Heidi Swedberg (born March 3, 1966) is an American actress known for her role as Susan Ross, the fiancée of George Costanza on the television sitcom Seinfeld.
Swedberg was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, the daughter of Kay, a high school English teacher and Jim Swedberg, a laser physicist. She was raised in New Mexico and attended Sandia High School in Albuquerque from 1980 to 1984.
Following graduation she moved to Kentucky where she spent a year at the Actor's Theatre of Louisville, following which she acted in her first film role, Norman Jewison's 1989 In Country. She followed that with roles in 1990 movies Welcome Home, Roxy Carmichael and Kindergarten Cop, and 1991 movies Too Much Sun and Jim Abrahams comedy spoof Hot Shots!
During this time she also had guest roles in a number of popular television series, including Matlock, Thirtysomething, Quantum Leap, Brooklyn Bridge, Northern Exposure, Sisters, Roc and Touched By An Angel. The following year she took on the role of Susan Ross in 11 episodes of Seinfeld's fourth season, 17 episodes of the seventh season and one episode of the ninth (via flashback in the 'backward' episode). She made a guest appearance in Wizards of Waverly Place as Jennifer Majorheely.
Swedberg was not in Seinfeld's fifth season in 1994 but acted regularly in parts on other television shows, including Empty Nest, Murder, She Wrote, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Grace Under Fire.

Angela Paton was an American stage, film, and television actress and theatre director. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1930. Described as a "natural comic" and one of the "legends of the local stage" of San Francisco, she was a veteran of the American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) and one of A.C.T.'s leading actresses in its first few seasons. After leaving A.C.T. in the early 1970s, Paton and her husband founded and ran the Berkeley Stage Company for a number of years. She appeared in 38 films and over 50 TV series.
Some of her notable film roles include Mrs. Lancaster, the innkeeper, in Groundhog Day (1993) and Grandma in American Wedding (2003). She also had recurring roles on the television shows Thirtysomething (1987-1991), My Name is Earl (2005-2009), and The War at Home (2005-2007).
Paton was a respected figure in the Bay Area theater community, and she was awarded the Bay Area Theater Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1987 for her performance in the play "The Beauty Queen of Leenane." She was also a member of the Actors' Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild.
Paton died in Oakland, California, in 2016, at the age of 86.
