A New York City street artist rescues a baby girl after her father is murdered. He then sets off to find the mother, but has to first learn how to care for the child. Ultimately he ends up in a horse drawn chase for the murderers.

Charles Lane (born December 26, 1953) is an African-American actor and filmmaker.
While attending SUNY Purchase as a film student, he made a short titled "A Place in Time" based on the famous Kitty Genovese incident. This short gained him a certain amount of attention, including a student Academy Award win. Lane then directed and starred in feature films True Identity, a vehicle for British comedian Lenny Henry funded by the Walt Disney Company, and Sidewalk Stories, the later of which won several awards, including one at the Cannes Film Festival.[1] This modern-day, silent black-and-white story of a homeless man and a little girl he tries to help was released by Palm Pictures, but is now out-of-print.
Charles also had a starring role in the Mario Van Peebles film Posse, as Weezie, often the butt of jokes.
He has starred with James Earl Jones, Lenny Henry, and Frank Langella and offered one of the first film roles to The Sopranos actress Edie Falco. Lane often includes various friends and family star in his films, including brother Gerald, friend George, and daughter Nicole Alysia.

Robert Clohessy (born June 10, 1958) is an American actor, known for playing Correctional Officer Sean Murphy on the HBO drama Oz. He was also a cast member in the final season of Hill Street Blues.
He has had recurring roles in the ABC daytime drama All My Children, Guiding Light, and appeared in the short lived Fox show New Amsterdam. He also played a semi-minor role in the film "Across the Universe", playing the part of Jude's long-lost father. He was also a series regular in short-lived shows such as Laurie Hill who at that time starred a then-unknown Ellen Degeneres.
He played the role of "Mike" in the Broadway Roundabout Theatre Company revival of Pal Joey, from November 2008 through February 2009. He is currently seen on HBO's new show Boardwalk Empire.
Edith Falco (born July 5, 1963) is an American actress. She is best known for her roles as Carmela Soprano on the HBO series The Sopranos (1999–2007), and as Nurse Jackie Peyton on the Showtime series Nurse Jackie (2009–2015). She is also known for her role as Diane Whittlesey in HBO's prison drama Oz (1997–2000).
In 2016, she played Sylvia Wittel on the web series Horace and Pete. In 2017, she portrayed defense attorney Leslie Abramson in the first season of the true crime anthology series Law & Order True Crime. Falco's film work includes lead roles in Laws of Gravity (1992), for which she was nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead and Judy Berlin (1999), and supporting roles in films including Sunshine State (2002), Freedomland (2006), and The Comedian (2016). For her role in the 2011 Broadway revival of The House of Blue Leaves, she earned a nomination for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play.
Falco's work has been widely acclaimed - among other recognitions, she has won two Golden Globe awards (from eleven nominations) and four Emmy awards (from fourteen nominations), all for individual performances.

Sage has appeared in more than 80 movies, most notable American Psycho (2000), We Are What We Are (2013), Every Secret Thing (2014), and Wrong Turn (2021). On television, he appeared on Nurse Jackie, Hap and Leonard and Power.
