A London art broker goes to Copenhagen where he requires the services of a secretary fluent in Danish, English, and German. He falls deeply in love with the woman, despite the fact that he knows virtually nothing about her. She insists on not being married in a church, and after they are married, some bad things from her past begin surfacing in subtly supernatural ways, and he must find the best way to deal with them without destroying their relationship.

Meg Tilly (born Margaret Elizabeth Chan; February 14, 1960) is a Canadian-American actress and novelist.
For her role in the 1985 film Agnes of God, she won a Golden Globe Award and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. For her role in the television series Bomb Girls (2012–13), she won the 2013 Canadian Screen Award for Best Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
Tilly has also written six novels, including Porcupine (2007), which was a finalist for the Sheila A. Egoff Children's Literature Prize.
She is the younger sister of actress Jennifer Tilly.
Rupert Frazer (born 12 March 1947) is a British actor. He appeared in Richard Attenborough's Gandhi in 1982. In Steven Spielberg's Empire of the Sun (1987) he plays the father of the protagonist Jim (Christian Bale).

Gray married Brian Rix in 1949. The couple had four children - two sons and two daughters. Their eldest child, daughter Shelley (born 1951) had Down syndrome. The experience of caring for her led the couple to become active campaigners for the disabled. Rix later became Mencap chairman and president. He became a life peer in 1992.

Jean Boht (born Jean Dance; March 6, 1936 - September 12, 2023) was an English actress.
She was most famous for the role of Nellie Boswell in Carla Lane's comedy Bread.
In a career spanning from 1971 to the 2010s, she appeared in such productions as Softly, Softly (1971), Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em (1978), Juliet Bravo in the mid 1980s, and most recently in 2004, Mothers and Daughters. In 1989, she was the subject of This Is Your Life. She was married to composer Carl Davis, and they had two daughters.
She was a pupil at Wirral Grammar School for Girls.
In 2006 she starred on-stage in 'Embers' along with Jeremy Irons at the Duke of York Theatre in London. In 2008 she made a guest appearance in BBC daytime soap Doctors. She starred in Chris Shepherd's 2010 award winning film Bad Night For The Blues. She obtained the name Boht from her first marriage to Bill Boht at that time Manager of the Ritz cinema in Birkenhead

Her film roles include Alice in The Zany Adventures of Robin Hood (1984), a nurse in The Girl in a Swing (1988), Marthe in Giorgino (1994), Mrs Brabin in Purely Belter (2000), a pub customer in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005), a Ministry of Magic witch in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005), and Hannah in Jane Eyre (2011). Elliott has appeared in numerous British television productions, including The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Travelling Man, Hi-de-Hi!, The Bill, This Life, Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, Black Books, Coronation Street, King Leek and EastEnders. She also appeared in Central Independent Television's Halloween special The Worst Witch as Agatha's assistant, Delilah. It is said on the DVD commentary for The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy that Garth Jennings, the director, only found out that Elliott had played Trillian in a stage adaptation of the same production after filming had finished.

Michael Melia (born 1945) is an established British actor best known for his work on television. He appeared as Queen Vic landlord Eddie Royle in BBC One soap opera EastEnders between 1990 and 1991.
Melia was born in Berkshire and attended St Mary's College, Strawberry Hill, the oldest Roman Catholic college in England. Before taking up acting he was a teacher. At one stage he ran a bar in Spain and thought about applying for a pub tenancy in England. However the idea was vetoed by his wife, former actress turned teacher, Celia Melia.
