Sammi Davis (born Samantha Davis; 21 June 1964) is a British actress. She gained considerable praise for her performance in Ken Russell's The Rainbow (1989). She also had significant roles in Mike Hodges' A Prayer For The Dying and John Boorman's Hope and Glory (both 1987) as well as a leading role in the Emmy Award-winning American television series, Homefront (1991–1993). Davis was married to the director Kurt Voss, whom she later divorced. After taking a few years out of the film industry to raise her family, she returned to the screen in a cameo role on Lost, playing the mother of Dominic Monaghan's character. Derrick O'Connor was born in Dublin, Ireland, and raised in London, UK. He performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Scottish National Theatre, with many leading stage performances in Edinburgh, Stratford-on-Avon and London's West End. His long and successful career included numerous starring roles in U.S., British and Australian film and television. He spent much of the latter half of his life living with his family in Santa Barbara where he died on 29th June, 2018 at the age of 77.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jean-Marc Barr (born on 27 September 1960 in Bitburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany) is a French-American film actor and director. His mother is French. His American father was in the US Air Force and served in the Second World War. Jean-Marc Barr is primarily known as an actor, but is also a film director, screenwriter and producer. Barr is bilingual in French and English: he speaks French with a nasal, hybrid accent, reminiscent of his American upbringing - with a slight American accent and occasional anglicisms in interviews - and English with a Mid-Atlantic accent. He studied philosophy at the University of California, Los Angeles, the Paris Conservatoire and the Sorbonne. He went on to pursue an education in drama at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. In London he met his future wife, a pianist and composer Irina Dečermić. Jean-Marc Barr began working in theatre in France in 1986. After some television roles and film work, in particular, Hope and Glory (1987) by John Boorman, he was cast in the tremendously successful The Big Blue (1988). Luc Besson cast him in the role of French diver Jacques Mayol. He played in the role opposite Rosanna Arquette and Jean Reno. The Big Blue was the most financially successful film in France in the 1980s. In 1991, he starred in Danish director Lars von Trier's Europa, marking the beginning of a long friendship (he is the godfather of von Trier's children) as well as a significant professional relationship. He went on to appear in von Trier’s Europa (1991), Breaking the Waves (1996), Dancer in the Dark (2000), Dogville (2004) and Manderlay (2005). Also in 2005 he starred in the French film Crustacés et Coquillages. His collaboration with von Trier put him on track to start directing his own work. He debuted in 1999 as a director, screenwriter and producer with the intimate love story Lovers. This film became the first part of a trilogy; the two subsequent parts being the drama Too Much Flesh (2000) and the comedy Being Light (2001) which he co-directed with Pascal Arnold. He may also be recognized for his role as the attractive divorce lawyer, Maitre Bertram in the Merchant Ivory film le Divorce (2003). He appeared as Hugo in The Red Siren in 2002. Amelda Brown is a British actress of stage, film, and television. She trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 1980, and became known for her work in fringe theatre. She played leading roles in the premieres of Caryl Churchill's Fen (1983) and A Mouthful of Birds (1986) as well as appearing in leading roles in revivals of Churchill's Light Shining in Buckinghamshire at the Royal National Theatre (1996) and Heart's Desire at the Orange Tree Theatre (2016). Her other stage roles have included Lady Macbeth for the Royal National Theatre's 1989 US tour of Macbeth; Maudlin in A Chaste Maid in Cheapside at Shakespeare's Globe in 1997; and Gibb in the 2014 world premiere of Tim Crouch's Adler and Gibb at the Royal Court theatre. Katrine Boorman (born 6 August 1960) is an English actress and director of film, television and stage since 1974. She is the daughter of British director John Boorman. Boorman was born to British film director John Boorman and his first wife Christel Kruse Boorman. They had four children, Telsche (died 1997), Daisy, Katrine, and Charley. The family spent the early years of her life in County Wicklow in Ireland, but after John and Christel divorced, the children and the mother left that area, and John remarried and started another family. Colin Higgins was a British actor famous for many appearances on British television. In 1977 Higgins was cast as Wedge Antilles in Star Wars and appears in the role for one scene only. The reason for this is that Higgins was fired after a day of filming because he was having difficulty recalling his lines. He was replaced by Dennis Lawson, who went on to have great success in the role, whilst Higgins' performance went uncredited as 'Rebel Pilot'. For many years he was known by fans as 'Fake Wedge' until a retcon finally gave his character a unique name and backstory, that of Colonel Takbright.
