Lloyd Vernet "Beau" Bridges (born December 9, 1941) is an American actor and director. He is a three-time Emmy, two-time Golden Globe and one-time Grammy Award winner, as well as a two-time Screen Actors Guild Award nominee. He was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 7, 2003, for his contributions to the television industry. He is the son of actor Lloyd Bridges and elder brother of fellow actor Jeff Bridges.
In 1948, he had an uncredited role in Force of Evil, and No Minor Vices, while in 1949, he played in the film The Red Pony. In the 1962–1963 television season, he and his brother, Jeff, appeared on their father's series, The Lloyd Bridges Show. He appeared in other television series too, including National Velvet (1962), The Fugitive (1963), Bonanza (1967), Mr. Novak (1963), and The Loner (1966). He appeared in such feature films during that time as The Landlord (1970), The Other Side of the Mountain (1975), Greased Lightning (1977), Norma Rae (1979), Heart Like a Wheel (1983), and The Hotel New Hampshire (1984).
In 1989, in perhaps his best-known role, he starred in The Fabulous Baker Boys. In the 1993–94 television season, he appeared with his father in the 15-episode series Harts of the West. In 1998, he starred as Judge Bob Gibbs in the one-season Maximum Bob on ABC. He had a recurring role in the Showtime series Beggars and Choosers (1999–2000).
In 2001, he guest-starred as Daniel McFarland, in two episodes in Will & Grace. From 2002 to 2003, he took on the role of Senator Tom Gage in The Agency. In January 2005, he was cast as Major General Hank Landry in Stargate SG-1. He also played the character in five episodes of the spin-off series Stargate Atlantis, as well as the two direct to DVD films Stargate: The Ark of Truth and Stargate: Continuum, both in 2008. In 2005, he guest-starred as Carl Hickey in My Name Is Earl; later, his character became recurring. He received a 2007 Emmy Award nomination for his performance. In 2009, he guest-starred as Eli Scruggs on the 100th episode of Desperate Housewives and received an Emmy Award nomination for his performance.
In 2011, he guest-starred in Brothers and Sisters, and in Franklin & Bash. In 2012, he took on the role of J.B. Biggley in the hit revival of the Broadway musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. In 2013, he became a major character on the CBS television show The Millers. He has had several roles in movies since then including Underdog Kids (2015), and Lawless Range (2016). He has also had guest roles on the shows Masters of Sex (2013–2016) and Code Black (2016).

Joanna Merlin (born Joann Ratner; July 15, 1931) was an American actress and casting director who has worked with Stephen Sondheim and starred in the original Broadway production of Fiddler on the Roof. She has written two acting guides and is a faculty member of New York University's graduate acting program. In recent years, she has become known for her recurring role on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as Judge Lena Petrovsky.
Joann Ratner, who later took her mother's maiden name, was born in Chicago, Illinois, to Toni Merlin and Harry Ratner, a Jewish grocer. Her family also included her older sister Harriet Glickman (1926-2020) who would go on to gain recognition for having helped persuade Charles Schulz to add a black character to his Peanuts strip. Merlin first acted on stage at age 11, joining a community theatre production, Too Many Marys. Merlin graduated from UCLA and later studied under Michael Chekhov, learning his world-renowned acting technique. She has been described as the last student of Michael Chekhov who is still alive and teaching.
Merlin made her first screen appearance in Cecil B. DeMille's film The Ten Commandments in 1956. Five years later, she made her Broadway debut in Becket before playing Tzeitel in Harold Prince's production of Fiddler on the Roof. She left the cast of Fiddler on the Roof before the end of its tour to take care of her two small children but Harold Prince gave her the opportunity to become involved in casting with a more flexible schedule. Company was the first musical for which Merlin served as the casting director. She was also in charge of casting for such plays as Follies, Evita and Sweeney Todd.
In 1986, she served as casting director for the John Carpenter film, Big Trouble in Little China.
After making appearances in several feature films, including the movie Fame, in which she played Miss Olivia Berg, a classical dance teacher; Merlin appeared in the NBC crime drama Law & Order in 1992 as a defense attorney. Like many actors from that show, she went on to play other characters in the Law & Order franchise - another defense attorney in the original show and a more recurring role as Judge Lena Petrovsky, a judge who was very stern, by-the-book, and has scolded or sanctioned, at various times, ADAs Casey Novak (Diane Neal) and Alexandra Cabot (Stephanie March) and Detective (now Lieutenant) Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay), in its first spin-off Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. In the latter role, she appeared in every season between the years 2000 and 2011.
In 2001, Joanna Merlin wrote Auditioning: An Actor-Friendly Guide and in 2007, shared her knowledge of the theatre industry in the instructional video Master Classes in the Michael Chekhov Technique. She teaches in New York University's graduate acting program at the Tisch School of the Arts and in 1999, founded the Michael Chekhov Association where she teaches acting workshops.

Margaret Whitton (November 30, 1950 - December 4, 2016) was an American stage, film, and television actress, originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Whitton did her primary film work between 1986 and 1993. Her most visible roles were that of baseball team owner Rachel Phelps in Major League (1989) and its sequel Major League II, and as Michael J. Fox's vibrant, sexy and underappreciated aunt-by-marriage in The Secret of My Success (1987). She also appeared in the Robin Williams-Kurt Russell vehicle The Best of Times (1986) and in Mel Gibson's The Man Without a Face (1993).
She first noticeably appeared on the stage in 1973, billed as Peggy Whitton. In the early 1980s, she began to be billed as Margaret Whitton and made her Broadway debut in 1982's Steaming. After her seven year experiment with film, she returned to the stage, appearing on Broadway in And the Apple Doesn't Fall... (1995) and in the original, award-winning musical Marlene (1999), starring Siân Phillips as Marlene Dietrich.
Today she is the president of independent film producer Tashtego Films (www.tashtegofilms.com).

Dennis Lipscomb was an American actor.
Lipscomb's first feature film was Union City (1980). From the early 1980s to the 1990s, Lipscomb appeared in key roles in various motion pictures including Love Child (1982), WarGames (1983), Eyes of Fire (1983), The Day After (1983), A Soldier's Story (1984), Crossroads (1986), Amazing Grace and Chuck (1987), Retribution (1987), Sister, Sister (1987), The First Power (1990) and Under Siege (1992). Lipscomb also had a recurring role as mayor of the fictitious town of Sparta, Mississippi in the first season of In the Heat of the Night (1988). In more recent years, Lipscomb has guest starred on television commercials and shows, including WKRP In Cincinnati, T.J. Hooker, and Wiseguy (1987; CBS) as Sid Royce/Elvis Prim. To a younger audience he is perhaps best known as DCI Peter Sterling in Spycraft: The Great Game.

He joined the show in Season Two, playing, most notably, Doctor Doolots. Avalos also starred as Jesse Rodriguez on the short-lived situation comedy Condo with McLean Stevenson, and also on the short-lived situation comedy E/R with Elliot Gould and Mary McDonnell, playing Dr. Tomas Esquivel.
