He comes from a prominent acting family and appeared on the television series Sea Hunt (1958–60), with his father, Lloyd Bridges and brother, Beau Bridges. He has won numerous accolades, including the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as an alcoholic singer in the 2009 film Crazy Heart.

Peter Capell (3 September 1912 - 3 March 1985) was a German actor who was active on screen from 1945 until 1985. His first role was in Winterset, shortly after the end of the Second World War. His final role came a year before his death, when he appeared in Mamas Geburtstag. Both of these were television productions. He also appeared in many films, including Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971), in which he played a "tinker" who spoke to Charlie Bucket (Peter Ostrum) at the gates of Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. Capell died, aged 72, in March 1985.

Peter Chelsom (born April 20, 1956) is a British actor and film director. He has directed among others such films as Shall We Dance? and Hannah Montana: The Movie
Chelsom was born in Blackpool, Lancashire, the son of antiques shop owners Kay and Reginald Chelsom. He studied at the Central School of Drama in London. He worked as an actor for the Royal Shakespeare Company as well as taking part in numerous film and television productions including A Woman of Substance which also included Jenny Seagrove and Deborah Kerr. While acting he developed a growing interest in writing and directing. From 1985-1998 he ran the television film course at Central School of Drama and later taught at both the Actor's Institute and Cornell University.

After appearing in several TV series, films and at the prestigious Stratford festival in Canada, she returned to England to play Dr Kate Webster in Peak Practice for several series.
