Jim Broadbent (born 24 May 1949) is an English actor. He won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for his supporting role as John Bayley in the feature film Iris (2001), as well as winning a BAFTA TV Award and a Golden Globe for his leading role as Lord Longford in the television film Longford (2006). Broadbent received four BAFTA Film Award nominations and won for his performance in Moulin Rouge! (2001). He was also nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards and four Screen Actors Guild Awards.
A graduate of the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in 1972, Broadbent first came to prominence in the 1980s, chiefly appearing in television comedy including playing Roy Slater in the BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses. He appeared in the Terry Gilliam films Time Bandits (1981) and Brazil (1985) before a breakthrough role in Mike Leigh's independent comedy drama Life Is Sweet (1990). His notable film roles since include The Borrowers (1997), Bridget Jones's Diary (2001), The Gathering Storm (2002), Hot Fuzz (2007), Another Year (2010), The Iron Lady (2011), Arthur Christmas (2011), Cloud Atlas (2012) and Brooklyn (2015). He played Horace Slughorn in the Harry Potter film series, Archmaester Ebrose in the seventh season of the television series Game of Thrones and Samuel Gruber in the Paddington film series.

Christopher Fairbank (sometimes credited as Chris Fairbank; born October 4, 1953) is an English actor best known for his role as Moxey in the hit comedy-drama series Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. Fairbank was born in Hertfordshire, England. He has numerous television credits to his name, notably in Sapphire and Steel, The Professionals, The Scarlet Pimpernel and provided minor voice talent for both the hit Wallace and Gromit feature-length film Curse of the Were-Rabbit and Flushed Away (both produced by Aardman). Fairbank also appeared as one of the pair of muggers who rob an out-of-town family, heralding the first appearance of the Batman in Tim Burton's 1989 film. Fairbank also had roles as Mactilburgh the scientist in the film The Fifth Element, the prisoner Murphy in Alien 3, and the Player Queen in the Franco Zeffirelli version of Hamlet, opposite Mel Gibson. Recently, he provided the voice of Old King Doran in the video game Demon's Souls and provides a number of voice accents in the PS2 video game Prisoner of War. Chris also appeared in Goal! trilogy in the character of a Newcastle United fan. In 2010, Chris appeared as a detective in the BBC Drama, Five Daughters, and as Alfred "Freddie" Lennon in the biopicLennon Naked with Christopher Eccleston. In 2011 Fairbank starred in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tidesas a pirate called Ezekiel. In 2012 he appeared as an Australian in Sky 1's Starlings.
Eric Allan is a retired British actor best known for appearing in several productions by Mike Leigh and for playing countryman Bert Fry on the Radio 4 soap The Archers from 1996 to 2021.
