A rich and challenging account of the experiences of a German Jewish musician who settled in Britain to escape Nazi persecution. Two of his friends are being sued by a former SS Kommandant, who denies their accusation that he was responsible for the genocide of 300 Belgians. Documentary interviews and archive footage merge with dramatised scenes to create a new way of representing history and memory.

Brigitte Kahn is a German-born British actress, best remembered for her performances on television. She remains best known for her role as Dagmar in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. Other TV credits include: Secret Army, The Sandbaggers, The Gentle Touch, The Professionals, C.A.T.S. Eyes, The Bill and The New Statesman. She also appeared in the Star Wars film The Empire Strikes Back.
Frederick was educated in Germany and France. He came to England in 1939 and took up acting at the suggestion of his English headmaster. He attended the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London between 1946 and 1948 and started his stage career at preston Rep in 1949. Many rep seasons in provinces before West End appearances including 'The Comedy of Errors', 'Lock Up Your Daughters', 'The Potsdam Quartet', 'Big Fish, Little Fish', 'For Adults Only', 'A Patriot For Me', 'Mrs. Gibson's Boys' and 'Salad Days'. Frederick started his television career in 1955 and went into films in 1956. He continued to act in all strands of the profession until his death.

Wolf Kahler (3 April 1940) is a German actor born in Kiel. Since 1975, he has appeared in many English language US and UK television and film productions. An early role for him was Kaiser Wilhelm II in Michael York's adventure film The Riddle of the Sands. One of his most well-known roles was that of Dietrich in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Kahler's voice also appears in video games including as Kaiser Vlad in Battalion Wars. Kahler played the Prince of Tübingen in Stanley Kubrick's 1975 film, Barry Lyndon In 2001 he portrayed aWehrmacht General in the World War II TV miniseries, Band of Brothers. Kahler played the German Ambassador in the long-running "Ambassador's Reception" TV advertisement for Ferrero Rocher chocolate, uttering the line "Excellente!".
He also appears as a famous Germanic architect in US television advertisements for the Kohler Company. In 2011 Kahler appeared as Dr. Hoffmanstahl in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
David Sibley is an English actor. He is best known for character roles in several cult television series: as twisted radio DJ Tom Everett in BBC television detective series Shoestring; and in Doctor Who as Pralix. He appeared on a DVD extra when this story was released recently.
