In this socially conscious drama, a TV journalist begins investigating a large factory that has been threatening the health of the children who live in the town's poorest, most polluted section. Because of his investigation, he and his family are threatened by company thugs. He gets no help from his TV station as they are loathe to tangle with big business.

Leonard Joseph “Len” Cariou (born September 30, 1939) is a Canadian actor, best known for his portrayal of Sweeney Todd in the original cast of Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street. He currently plays the patriarch in the multi-generational television series Blue Bloods on CBS.
Jayne Eastwood is a Canadian actress and comedian. She is best known for her film roles as Anna-Marie Biddlecoff in the comedy film Finders Keepers (1984), Mrs. Hammond in Anne of Green Gables (1986), Judy the Waitress in The Santa Clause (1994), Mrs. White in My Big Fat Greek Wedding trilogy, Mrs. Borusewicz in Chicago (2002), Lucy Decker in Welcome to Mooseport (2004), and Miss Wimsey in Hairspray (2007). Jean Lapointe (born December 6, 1935) was a Quebecois-Canadian actor, comedian and singer as well as a former Canadian Senator.
Lapointe began his stage career as part of the duo Les Jérolas with Jérôme Lemay, performing in such venues as The Ed Sullivan Show and at the Olympia in Paris.
He launched his solo career in 1974 and has performed on stage, albums and in two feature films. Most of his albums have been produced by Yves Lapierre.
He was also a social activist who has campaigned against alcoholism and drug abuse through his Jean Lapointe Foundation. He was named an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1984 and was named to the Senate by Jean Chrétien in 2001 where he sat as a Liberal until reaching the mandatory retirement age of 75 on December 6, 2010. In 2006, he was made an Officer of the National Order of Quebec.
Lapointe was also a life member of the Royal Philatelic Society of Canada and a member of the Stamp Advisory Committee of Canada Post.
In 2005, Lapointe was the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Francophone SOCAN Awards held in Montreal.
Jean Lapointe owned the sprinter Diapason whose wins included the 1984 Nearctic Stakes and who was voted the Sovereign Award as that year's Canadian Champion Sprint Horse.

Sean Sullivan (December 26, 1921 – June 3, 1985) was a Canadian actor. He is most noted for his stage and television performances in productions of David French's play Of the Fields, Lately, for which he won an ACTRA Award in 1977 as Best Television Actor for the CBC Television film; and his film performances in Springhill, for which he won a Canadian Film Award as Best Actor in a Non-Feature Film in 1972, and The Boy in Blue, for which he received a posthumous Genie Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 7th Genie Awards in 1986.
Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, he began his career as an actor when a stage play he appeared in in his 20s, Golden Boy, reached the finals of the Dominion Drama Festival. He soon began appearing in CBC Television productions, including episodes of the drama anthology series Playbill, CBC Summer Theatre, Folio and General Motors Theatre. His film roles included Nobody Waved Good-bye, The Young Ones, Why Rock the Boat?, 125 Rooms of Comfort, One Man, The Silent Partner, Atlantic City and The Grey Fox.
