As played out by a theatre troupe, the last days of Jesus Christ are depicted from the perspective of Judas Iscariot, his betrayer. As Jesus' following increases, Judas begins to worry that Jesus is falling for his own hype, forgetting the principles of his teachings and growing too close to the prostitute Mary Magdalene.

Yvonne Marianne Elliman (born December 29, 1951) is an American singer who performed for four years in the first cast of Jesus Christ Superstar. She scored a number of hits in the 1970s and achieved a #1 hit with "If I Can't Have You." After declining success, she dedicated herself to her family, and after a long hiatus made a comeback album as a singer-songwriter in 2004.

Barry Dennen (born February 22, 1938) is an American actor, singer, and writer.
Dennen was born in Chicago, Illinois. In New York City from 1960 to 1963, he had a relationship with Barbra Streisand, including living together for a year, during which time he helped her develop the nightclub act that began her successful career as a singer and actress.
He moved to London for fifteen years and in 1968 landed the starring role of the master of ceremonies in the London version of Cabaret. In 1970, he played Pontius Pilate on the album of Jesus Christ Superstar, and he played the same role in the Broadway production (1971). In the same year, he played Mendel in Norman Jewison's film of Fiddler on the Roof. According to Dennen's website, he suggested to Jewison that he direct a film of Superstar. Jewison did so, and Dennen played Pilate again (1973).
He was the voice actor who portrayed the Chamberlain SkekSil in The Dark Crystal. He has also done voice work on such cartoons as DuckTales, Batman: The Animated Series, The Pirates of Dark Water, Animaniacs, and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Since that time Dennen has had a variety of small parts on American television shows and films, including: Batman; Superman III; The Kentucky Fried Movie; The Shining; Galtar and the Golden Lance; Tales from the Darkside and Titanic. He played auto dealer Irwin Lapsey in Shock Treatment, the sequel toThe Rocky Horror Picture Show. He has also done voices for many video games, including Fatman in Metal Gear Solid 2, Police Chief Bogen in Grim Fandango, Mimir in the recent video game Too Human, Dean Domino in Fallout: New Vegas expansion "Dead Money", and the Dark One in The Mark of Kri.
He wrote the screenplay for an episode of Amazing Stories titled "The Secret Cinema" (1985) and cowrote an episode of The Comic Strip Presents... titled "Demonella" (1993). His autobiographical book, My Life With Barbra: A Love Story (1997), deals with their relationship and with his gradual realization that he was a homosexual.

Robert 'Bob' Bingham born 29 October 1946 in Seattle, Washington U.S. is an actor and singer. Bingham is most remembered for playing the role of Caiaphas in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar. Bingham's first professional appearance was in a production of Hair in his native Seattle. Bingham created the role of Caiaphas in the original concert tour of Jesus Christ Superstar and went on to perform the role in the original Broadway production, which ran from 1971–1973, as well as a Paris version. Along with Barry Dennen and Yvonne Elliman, Bingham reprised his Broadway role in the 1973 film. He retired from show business soon afterwards and worked in a managerial position in a zipper factory. Today he lives in Brewster, New York with his wife and two children aged 8 and 6.

Kurt "Frenchy" Yaghjian is an American actor and singer known for his appearance as Annas in the 1973 film Jesus Christ Superstar. Kurt Yaghjian is the son of Haig Yaghjian, a former assistant conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, and was a member of a school choir that participated in the premiere of Gian Carlo Menotti's The Death of the Bishop of Brindisi in May 1963. He is of Armenian descent. Menotti was impressed with the expressiveness of Yaghjian's face and recommended him to NBC for the role of Amahl in Amahl and the Night Visitors in 1963, the first time that the production was videotaped, previous versions having been shown live. The videotaped version with Yaghjian was shown annually until 1966. In 1971 he graduated from North Carolina School of the Arts. He has taken part in advertising campaigns for products such as Coca-Cola, Ford Motors, Domino's Pizza, Toyota, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Budweiser and Sprite. He appeared in the original Broadway production of Jesus Christ Superstar from 12 October 1971 to 30 June 1973 as a leper, a reporter and as understudy to Ben Vereen as Judas Iscariot.
Philip Toubus (born April 17, 1947 in Winnetka, Illinois), better known as Paul Thomas, is an American pornographic actor and director.
Philip Toubus was born in Winnetka, Illinois, to a wealthy family. He is the nephew of Sara Lee Lubin, of the "Sara Lee" foods company. He attended the University of Wisconsin–Madison but turned to acting. He acted in Broadway theatre, playing a starring role in Hair. He also played Peter in the 1973 film version of Jesus Christ Superstar. Toubus signed with the William Morris Agency and went to Hollywood, where he appeared in several in television shows.
Toubus started working in pornography in 1974. He met the porn producers the Mitchell Brothers while playing in a musical in San Francisco. He performed in several porn "loops" for them and, in 1976, appeared in his first porn feature, The Autobiography of a Flea. Toubus performed mostly using the stage name Paul Thomas, but he has also appeared under several other names.
In 1982 Toubus was arrested for smuggling cocaine into the United States from South America. He served one year in jail. Following his release from prison, Toubus resumed his career and, in 1983, won the Adult Film Association of America Award for Best Actor in Virginia. As of 2007 Toubus - as Paul Thomas - has acted in over 500 films and directed nearly 300 films, winning seven Adult Video News Awards and two X-Rated Critics Organization Awards for best director. He was inducted into the X-Rated Critics Organization Hall of Fame in 1986. In 2006 he was inducted into the Legends of Erotica Hall of Fame. He is also a member of the Adult Video News Hall of Fame.

Jeff Hyslop is a Canadian musical theatre actor, singer, dancer, choreographer, and director. His most famous roles were as Jeff the mannequin in the children's show Today's Special and as the title role in the Canadian travelling production of The Phantom of the Opera. Hyslop is married to Vancouver-born singer and actress Ruth Nichol. They have one daughter, Gemma Nichol Hyslop, born in 1976. Darcel Leonard Wynne, sometimes credited as simply Darcel, is an African-American dancer, choreographer, author and producer, best known for heading the "Solid Gold Dancers" on the syndicated 1980s music series Solid Gold. Darcel started dancing professionally at the age of 13. She danced in films, on television, performed on Broadway, and choreographed and performed for shows in Las Vegas.
