Peter Vaughan (born Peter Ewart Ohm; 4 April 1923 – 6 December 2016) was an English character actor known for many supporting roles in British film and television productions. He also acted extensively on the stage. He is perhaps best known for his role as Grouty in the sitcom Porridge and its 1979 film adaptation. Other parts included a recurring role alongside Robert Lindsay in the sitcom Citizen Smith, Tom Hedden in Straw Dogs, Winston the Ogre in Time Bandits, Tom Franklin in Chancer and Mr. Stevens, Sr. in The Remains of the Day. His final role was as Maester Aemon in HBO's Game of Thrones (2011–2015). (wikipedia)

Gerald Flood was born in Portsmouth, son of a Naval family. He was a wireless operator during the War and worked as a filing clerk after the War ended until he landed a job with the Farnham Repertory Company. It was there that he met his future wife, Anne. He toured in rep, and appeared in productions including "Hamlet," "Power and Glory" and "Charley's Aunt." In 1960 he performed in "The Complaisant Lover" at the Globe Theatre and went on to appear in "The Formation Dancers," "Children's Day" and "There's A Girl In My Soup." In the 1960's he appeared in a science fiction series called "Pathfinders in Space" (1960), and its sequels "Pathfinders to Mars" (1960-1961) and "Pathfinders to Venus" (1961). Other television roles followed, including "The Ratcatchers" (1966/67), "A Sharp Intake of Breath," "Third Time Lucky" and "Bleak House." He also guested on shows like "Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased): A Disturbing Case" (1969), "Strange Report" (1969), "Steptoe and Son: What Prejudice" (1970) and "Return of the Saint" (1979). His films included "Black Beauty" (1946), "Patton" (1970), "Smokescreen" and "Frightmare" (1974). He died in April 1989.

His film credits included Zulu, The Ipcress File, Get Carter, Burke and Hare, Shaft in Africa, and Under Milk Wood. His first wife was the George and Mildred star Yootha Joyce.

Guyler was born in Wallasey on the Wirral Peninsula, Cheshire, and brought up on the other side of the River Mersey in Liverpool, Lancashire, where his father was a jeweller. He attended Liverpool College and originally planned a career in the church. During the Second World War he was called up and joined the RAF Police but was later invalided from service, whereupon he joined Entertainments National Service Association (ENSA) and then (on 4 May 1942) the BBC's Drama and Repertory company in Manchester.

Damaris Hayman is an English character actress, often cast in upper class or eccentric roles. She is perhaps best known for her role as the white witch, Miss Hawthorne, in the 1971 Doctor Who serial The Dæmons, a role which she returned to in recent years for the six-part straight-to-dvd drama White Witch of Devil's End which commended production in 2012, concluding in 2017. Her film credits include The Belles of St Trinians, Only Two Can Play, Bunny Lake Is Missing, The Pink Panther Strikes Again and The Missionary.
