When Johnny Matlock whisks away a cold war secret from under the noses of Berlin's top secret agents, his every move is followed when he returns to England. His girlfriend Paula is kidnapped but her handbag is discovered at the scene of the crime by the aristocratic private eye, Duke Martin. Inside it he discovers the secret formula that the agents are searching for and tracks down her sister Paula. As Johnny grows frantic for the safe return of his girlfriend, Duke Martin plays a deadly game of double bluff with the enemy agents.

Tom Conway (born Thomas Charles Sanders, 15 September 1904 – 22 April 1967) was a British film, television and radio actor remembered for playing private detectives (including The Falcon, Sherlock Holmes, Bulldog Drummond, and The Saint) and psychiatrists. He is perhaps best known for playing "The Falcon" in ten of the series' entries, taking over for his younger brother, George Sanders, in The Falcon's Brother (1942), in which they both starred. He is also well known for his appearance in several Val Lewton films.
Conway was born in St. Petersburg, Russia. At the outbreak of the Russian Revolution (1917), the family moved to England, where he was educated. In England, he appeared in several plays with the Manchester Repertory Company and performed on BBC Radio.
Honor Blackman (22 August 1925 - 5 April 2020) was an English actress, known for the roles of Cathy Gale in The Avengers (1962–64) and Bond girl Pussy Galore in Goldfinger (1964).
Freddie Mills was a British boxer (World Light Heavyweight champion from 1948-1950) and actor who died in mysterious circumstances in 1965. A verdict of suicide was recorded but many believe he was murdered by protection racketeers.
Alexander Gauge was a British actor best known for playing Friar Tuck in The Adventures of Robin Hood from 1955 to 1959. Born in a Methodist Mission station in Wenzhou in China, Gauge was a well-known English character actor. Gauge attended school in California before moving to England.
