From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Sir John Mills, CBE (born Lewis Ernest Watts Mills, 22 February 1908 – 23 April 2005) was an English actor who appeared in more than 120 films in a career spanning seven decades. On screen, he often played people who are not at all exceptional, but become heroes because of their common sense, generosity and good judgement.
McCallum's father, John Neil McCallum Sr., was a theatre owner and entrepreneur, who built and for many years ran the 2,000 seat Cremorne Theatre on the banks of the Brisbane River. After emigrating from Scotland, McCallum Snr. became an accomplished musician, and was soon heavily involved in Brisbane's entertainment scene. His mother was an accomplished amateur actress who was born in England. In 1918, McCallum Jr. was born in Brisbane during the opening night of a comedy performance. After his birth, a family friend sent his father a wire: 'Congratulations on two howling successes'. McCallum was exposed to acting at a young age: his early childhood was full of backstage encounters at the Cremorne with the wide variety of performers who frequented his father's theatre. Although McCallum and his two younger brothers received their primary school education in the UK, the family returned to Australia once the Great Depression started. His secondary education was at the Anglican Church Grammar School in Brisbane. His early theatrical training was with Barbara Sisely at the Brisbane Repertory Company.

Laurence Naismith (14 December 1908 – 5 June 1992) was an English actor. Naismith appeared in films such as Diamonds Are Forever (1971), Richard III (1955), Jason and the Argonauts (1963), Sink the Bismarck! (1960), Carrington VC (1954) and as Captain Edward Smith of the RMS Titanic in A Night to Remember (1958). He appeared on Broadway in the musical Here's Love in 1963 and played the non-singing role of Merlin in the 1967 film version of the musical Camelot. In 1965 he guest-starred as barber Gilly Bright in episode 25, "The Threat" of 12 O-Clock High (TV series). He was Judge Fulton in the TV series The Persuaders! (1971), with Tony Curtis and Roger Moore. He also starred in a children's ghost film The Amazing Mr Blunden (1972). He portrayed Emperor of Austria Franz Joseph in the BBC production Fall of Eagles (1974). Naismith played the Prince of Verona in the BBC Television Shakespeare version of Romeo & Juliet. Outside of acting he was the landlord of the Rowbarge pub at Woolhampton, Berkshire and a keen cricket fan. Naismith married, in 1939, Vera Bocca of Horden, County Durham. Peter Geoffrey Francis Jones (12 June 1920 - 10 April 2000) was a distinguished British actor and radio personality known for his distinctive voice and narration. He gained recognition for his role as The Book in "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," providing the voice of the eponymous guidebook in both the radio series and subsequent adaptations.
