Anna Quirentia Nilsson was a Swedish-born actress who achieved success in American silent movies. Starring in some 200 feature films. The first Swedish actress to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 1905, she had earned enough for a ticket across the Atlantic. In New York she was discovered on a thriving avenue by the famous portrait painter James Carroll Beckwith and soon she was New York's highest paid model. In 1907 she was named America's most beautiful woman and became a model for the 1910s beauty ideal, The Gibson Girl Look.

From Wikipedia Jane Winton (October 10, 1905 - September 22, 1959) was a movie actress, dancer, opera soprano, writer, and painter. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During the 1920s she began her stage career as a dancer with the Ziegfeld Follies. After coming to the west coast Winton became known as the green-eyed goddess of Hollywood. Her film appearances include roles in Tomorrow's Love (1925), Why Girls Go Back Home (1926), Sunrise, The Crystal Cup and The Fair Coed (1927), Burning Daylight, Melody of Love and The Patsy (1928), Scandal and Show Girl in Hollywood (1929), and The Furies and Hell's Angels (1930). Winton played Donna Isobel, the mother of the title character, in Don Juan (1926). The film starred John Barrymore and Mary Astor. The movie was billed as the first film made in Vitaphone, a new invention which synchronized sound with motion pictures. Modern talking pictures began with the Vitaphone. After leaving Hollywood, Winton performed various operatic roles both in the United States and abroad. In 1933 she was with the National Grand Opera Company for their production of I Pagliacci. She sang Nedda. She starred in the operetta Caviar. In England she became noted for her singing and work in radio. Jane Winton died in 1959 at the Pierre Hotel in New York City.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Hessy Doris Lloyd (3 July 1896 – 21 May 1968) was an English-American film, television and stage actress. Born in Liverpool, she went to the United States of America to visit a sister already living there. What was supposed to be a visit she made permanent. She spent several years (1916–25) appearing in Broadway theatre plays, notably a number of Ziegfeld Follies editions, and probably spent some time on the road in touring companies. She decided on a film career, making her first film in 1925. With the exception of returning to one Broadway play in 1947, her career was devoted to films and television. Lloyd appeared in over 150 films between 1925 and 1967, including the 1933 low-budget Monogram Pictures version of Oliver Twist, in which she played Nancy. Irving Pichel starred as Fagin and Dickie Moore as Oliver. Her roles ranged from the sinister Russian spy Mrs. Travers in the biopic Disraeli (1929) to the meek housekeeper Mrs. Watchett in The Time Machine (1960). Her most famous film roles were in the Tarzan films starring Johnny Weissmuller. She voiced one of the roses in Disney's Alice in Wonderland (1951), later making small appearances in Mary Poppins and The Sound of Music which both starred Julie Andrews.
